In years past, most of the proceeds
from the Spaghetti Dinner were ear-
marked for the construction of The
Miracle League of Plymouth baseball
field. That field, once the club mem-
bers' great dream, is now a reality,
Greeneisen said. It is located in the
recreation area behind the Plymouth
Arts andRecreationComplex, former-
ly Central Middle School. As prom-
ised, The Miracle League field now
serves as a playground for youngsters
in wheelchairs, on crutches or with
other mobility issues and for those
with visual and hearing impairments,
autismand other special needs.
Proceeds from this year's dinner
will be used to provide scholarships
for Plymouth-Canton area youngsters
who have overcome major challenges
in order to graduate from high school;
musical equipment for the music pro-
gram at Starkweather Academy;
books and equipment for the first real
school in Jirapa, Ghana Africa just
starting construction with funds from
the Rotary Club of Plymouth A.M.; a
happier holiday for nearly 150 sen-
iors at the Annual Senior Christmas
Dinner and Rotary Shelter Boxes for
Emergency Relief wherever and
whenever disasters strike.
The Spaghetti Dinner is the most
important means of raising awareness
about and funding for the many com-
munity-focused and international
Peace Through Service projects and
undertakings of the club, Greeneisen
added.
