Optimists Pet Show has prizes for every breed of pet

          The traditional Optimist Club Pet

Showwill return again this year during

the Plymouth Fall Festival. As they

have for more than 40 years, the

Optimists will host the pet show on the

Lou LaRiche Main Stage in Kellogg

          Park at 9 a.m. Saturday

Every year, the club hosts the pet

show as an opportunity to allow pet

owners of all ages to showoff their best

          friends, explained Optimists Club

          President CharlieRoebuck.

          During the four decades, there

aren't too many pets the judges haven't

seen. Last year, for instance, one young

man brought his very fuzzy tarantula in

          a shoebox-sized container for the

          judges to evaluate.

Roebuck said he even remembers a

year when a child brought a cricket up

to the stage. “We asked, 'How long have

you had this pet?' and she said, “about

          aminute.”

She did get a participation award,

          however.
