Veterans' Tent to host live music Friday, Saturday
Fall Festival weekend will be full of activity and nowhere
busier than the tent behind E.G. Nicks restaurant on Forest
Street.
Following the Civitans Taste Fest in the huge tempera-
ture-controlled tent, Smokin’ Mirrors will take to the stage
and entertain the adults-only crowd until 11 p.m. Friday.
“It's a great time and this band really draws a crowd,”
said Frank Agostini who along with Tony Belli, brings in the
tent each year to help the civic groups with their charity
efforts and then host a huge party.
The only fee, other than for drinks, is a $5 cover charge
which goes to the Plymouth Canton Vietnam Veterans
group, which is a cause both Agostini and Belli support.
“These guys put it on the line and whatever we can do for
them, we do. This has turned into their biggest fundraiser of
the year,” Agostini said. “We have a lot of people who throw
in $20 when they realize what the small cover charge is real-
ly for,” he added.
Smokin’ Mirrors is a Detroit-based four piece cover band
that formed in 2010. The band features Steve Ritz on drums,
Jeff Back on lead guitar, Ron Cox on bass with vocals by
Julie Hawes. The band performs Motown and country hits Smokin’ Mirrors
