Step in time
Prestigious Plymouth Fife & Drum Corps appears annually at festival
They've traveled the country, per-
forming at sites many only read about
in history books, but the young musi-
cians from the Plymouth Fife and
DrumCorps always return to celebrate
theFall Festival in their home town.
This year, as has become a tradition,
the musicians will bring a taste of his-
tory and patriotism to the festival with
their performance on the Main Stage
inKelloggPark at noon onSaturday.
This is the 46th performance season
of the Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps,
a group of young musicians, ranging in
age from 12 to 18. The groupmembers
wear red and blue uniforms, authentic
in every detail to those worn by the
commander in chief's personal life
guard of 1776 through 1783. Their
music is also authentic to the 17th cen-
tury, with some modern twists, and is
the same as that heard by many
famous names in American history.
The corps musicians will appear after
their most recent performance tour,
during which they performed at his-
toric sites in New York, Pennsylvania
andMaryland.
