          The 21st Romulus DDA Pumpkin
        
        
          Festival - the largest city family celebra-
        
        
          tion -  features something for everyone
        
        
          and is expected to draw thousands of
        
        
          participants from Romulus and south-
        
        
          eastMichigan.
        
        
          There will be 60 vendors on hand as
        
        
          well, many featuring food and crafts.
        
        
          The Downtown Development
        
        
          Authority (DDA) began funding and
        
        
          organizing the festival seven years ago,
        
        
          when it returned to its glory days. DDA
        
        
          Director Merrie Druyor said that since
        
        
          the festival has something for everyone,
        
        
          the event brings the community togeth-
        
        
          er in celebration.
        
        
          Hours:
        
        
          The festival gets under way at
        
        
          6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21. The Romulus
        
        
          Rotary Club Parade of Lights will start
        
        
          at 8 p.m. Concerts will keep the fun
        
        
          going until 11:30 p.m.
        
        
          Saturday, Sept. 22 - starts at 8 a.m.
        
        
          with a pancake breakfast served at the
        
        
          Historical Park Pavilion by Boy Scout
        
        
          Troop 872. Concerts entertain through
        
        
          the night until 1 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23.
        
        
          Sunday, Sept. 23 - starts with
        
        
          Romulus Ministerial Alliance
        
        
          Ecumenical Services at 9:30 a.m. The
        
        
          close of the three-day festival is at 6
        
        
          p.m. Sunday.
        
        
          Festival Parking:
        
        
          Hunt Street will be
        
        
          closed between Goddard and Bibbins
        
        
          during the three-day weekend.
        
        
          Goddard Road also will be closed from
        
        
          Moore Street to the railroad crossing
        
        
          located just east of ShookRoad.
        
        
          Parking is available at 11334 Hunt
        
        
          and on the open field on Olive Street
        
        
          between Grant and Bibbins, with over-
        
        
          flowparking at 37200Neville andhand-
        
        
          icapparking at 36525Bibbins.

          Committee has signed some impressive
        
        
          acts to provide free entertainment dur-
        
        
          ing the weekend. Performing from 6
        
        
          until 8:30 Friday, Sept. 21, will be clas-
        
        
          sic rock band Second Wind and from 9
        
        
          until 11:30 p.m. “top 40” band Atomic
        
        
          Radiowill perform.
        
        
          Entertainment will begin at 4:30 on
        
        
          Saturday, Sept. 22, when 10th Street
        
        
          Tuesday performs until 6 p.m. on the
        
        
          Freight House Stage, Square Pegz from
        
        
          6 to 9:30 p.m. on the main stage, Larry
        
        
          Lee andBack in theDay from9:30 to 11
