She said it was going to be similar to a
paint-by-numbers or huge coloring
book that everyone could participate
in completing.
Soenen said he is even more
pleased that the college chose
Plymouth as the area has always been
supportive of the arts. He added that
the impact and prestige for the entire
community of having the art classes
couldnot bemeasured.
“This is such an enormous benefit
for the whole area,” he said. “The
College of Creative Studies has more
graduates working professionally as
automotive designers and in automo-
tive design than anywhere else.”
Soenen said he expected that multi-
ple classes would be offered in those
specific areas, including clay model-
ing, computer design, graphic design
and other related classes, but that he
was sure other art-related classes
wouldbe available.
According to the college, those
classes and a class in live model draw-
ing, product design, cartooning art and
computer animationwill all be offered.
The College of Creative Studies is
consistently listed among the best art
and design schools in the country on
professional websites. Scholarship
opportunities are also available at the
college which currently has an enroll-
ment of about 1,400.
