Beauty of natural creatures inspires artistic creations
Katja and John Hilton expect to see
a waiting line outside booth 701 when
they open for business during Art In
ThePark this year.
“Art In The Park is our favorite
show,”KatjaHilton said. “We have a lot
of collectors in that area that send in
special requests and ask when we will
be there. They are usually waiting out-
side the booth for us to open.”
Hilton, who earned a masters
degree in entomology at the University
of Tulsa, and her husband are the own-
ers of Amazing & Beautiful Butterflies
where creatures of nature are turned
into artworks. They couple has more
than 30 years experience in producing
custom insect and butterfly arrange-
ments inhand-crafteddisplay frames.
The frames are handcrafted by
John Hilton, who had a steep learning
curve in perfecting his art, his wife
noted. “While I had the skill and
knowledge about butterflies and other
arthropods, he had never come closer
to making a frame than cutting down a
tree with a chain saw,” she said with a
