The joy of art
Artist brings love of color, nature to work
Artist Jen Callahan and her art-
work will travel from her North Port,
Florida home studio to visit Art In
ThePark this year.
Callahan is the daughter of a stu-
dio watercolor artist who introduced
her grade school daughter to the arts.
Callahan was in the Gifted Art
Program as a teen and a college
scholarship program during high
school. She earned her degree in
applied science in 2000, focusing on
graphic arts and web design. She con-
tinued to study art for the next seven
years and opened a studio of her own
to sell display and teach art to chil-
dren at Liberty Town Fine Arts
Center in Fredericksburg, Va. She
closed that studio in 2007 and began
displaying her work at indoor and
outdoor art festivals.
“I enjoy the thrill of showing my
work in new, exciting places and cur-
rently show at festivals year round,”
she said.
Her medium is water-based paints
combine with acrylics and she said
she enjoys experimenting with differ-
ent painting surfaces and styles.
“My emotions come out with each
painting and I end to use colors that
make me happy. Sometimes I disre-
gardwhat is presented in real life and
express it in a different way,” she
said.
All Jen Callahan Artwork paintings
are one of a kind originals completed
by the artist. She can be found in
booth 609-610 this year during Art In
ThePark.
