Flower power
Art institute brings
workshop to festival
For centuries, flower symbolism
has been a significant element in cul-
tures around the world. Many flowers
were originally linked to ancient
deities including Venus, Diana, Jupiter
andApollo.
This year, the Detroit Institute of
Arts is bringing a sample of that sym-
bolism to Art In The Park with a paper
flower workshop available at no cost to
visitors. According to Sharon Harrell,
Studio Outreach Coordinator for
Learning and Interpretation at Detroit
Institute of Arts, there will be three
