Meeting called to order by Supervisor Morgan at 6:00 pm. Roll call: Supervisor J. Morgan, Trustees: Oddy, Rush, LaPorte and
Swinson. Clerk E. Hurst and Treasurer K. Bednark excused. Also showing present: Deputy Clerk Burdick, Finance Director Cole,
Public Safety Director/ Chief of Police Luke and no residents.
3. Agenda: Motion by Rush, supported by Oddy to approve the agenda with the following edits;

Approve the furlough of 8 employees; Anna Winter, Brad Wheelock, Dawn Hadyniak, Karen
Woodington, Peter Gregory, Sue Dufresne, Erica Campbell and Richard Morgan, effective April 14,

ADDED: 6. New Business: Item C. as follows;
Consider the approval of hiring a new police officer, Nickolas Allan Toth, contingent upon passing both
physical and psychological exams with the (6) month compensation level provided on the first day
of employment.

5. Warrants: Motion by Rush, supported by Swinson to approve the warrants totaling $73,973.92. Roll call vote: Yes: Rush,

A. Motion by Oddy, supported by Swinson to approve the payroll of all employees through April 13, 2020; due to the Governor’s
Executive Order of Stay Home. Motion carried.
B. Motion by Oddy, supported by Swinson to approve the furlough of 7 employees; Anna Winter, Brad Wheelock, Dawn
Hadyniak, Karen Woodington, Peter Gregory, Sue Dufresne and Erica Campbell effective April 14, 2020 until further notice, sup-
ported by Resolution # 2020-08. Roll call vote: Yes: Rush, Swinson, LaPorte, Oddy and Supervisor Morgan. Nay: None.
Excused: Clerk Hurst and Treasurer Bednark. Motion carried

Members of Township Staff and Board of Trustees provided statements as follows;
Karen Armatis, Deputy Supervisor recognized and supported the activities and community support of our Senior Center staff, as
well as the DPW & Township staff who continued efforts in supporting the Sumpter Twp Community.
Trustee LaPorte recognized the donation by the UAW Ford donation of protective masks.
Trustee Oddy addressed a recent Belleville Independent article which untruthfully reported actions by Chief Eric Luke. He fur-
ther stated that the Township and the Board of Trustees were proud of the service provided to the community by the Chief and
his staff. Trustee Rush supported these comments and thanked the Chief, as well.
8. Adjournment: Motion by Rush, supported by Oddy to adjourn at 6:38 pm. Motion carried.
