Inkster residents who want to take
part in programs at the Dozier
Recreation Complex in the city nowhave
a shuttle bus available for transportation.

The Belleville Area District Library
will offer genealogy workshops, Tracing
Your Roots, at 7 p.m. everyWednesday in

Local history and genealogy research
expert Ginger Bruder will guide partici-
pants through strategies and resources
available to develop a record of family
histories. The final class will feature a
lecture by Mark Bowden, the librarian in
charge of local history collections at the
Detroit PublicLibrary.

Northville exhibit opens
The Northville Art House will
IMPRINT: A Kate Paul Retrospective,
featuring more than 50 works, including
paintings, etchings, sketches, sculptures,
and prose, by Livonia artist Kate Paul.
The exhibition will continue through
Saturday, April 29, during Art House
hours, noon until 5 p.m. Tuesday through
Friday and noon until 4 p.m. on
Saturdays.

Drugs 101 classes set
St. Joseph Mercy Health System will
present Drugs 101: What Parents Want to
Know from 6:30-8:30 p.m. April 17 at
HillsideMiddle School, 775NorthCenter
Road inNorthville.
The class is sponsored by the
Northville Public Schools and a grant
from Ford Motor Co. The classes are for
adults only. While walk-ins will be wel-
come, pre- registration is requested at

The program will explain the signs,
symptoms and current trends in teen
drug use and include a mock teen's bed-
room set up for adults to observe and
attempt to identify the obvious and not-
so-obvious drug related paraphernalia.

Mother Earth to appear
Earth Day Story Time at the Romulus
Public Library will feature a special visit
and story fromMother Earth, also known
asMiss Jazmine, at 6:30 p.m. April 18.
Those in attendance will enjoy a craft
in celebration of Earth Day which is
April 22. This is a free event and all ages
arewelcome.

Crime Stoppers director to speak
Matt Conquest, the director of law
enforcement operations of Crime
Stoppers of Michigan will be the speaker
at the Greater Romulus Chamber of
Commerce luncheon beginning at 11:30

Superintendent of the Plymouth-
Canton Schools Monica Merritt will be
the speaker at the 7 p.m. April 19meeting
of the Plymouth Concerned Citizens.
Merritt will discuss student and staff
achievements in the schools, school fund-
ing and the school budget.

Plymouth Arts and Recreation Complex
(PARC) in the old Central Middle School

Victorian clothing on sale
The Northville Historical Society 2017
Victorian Clothing Sale will take place
from 1-7 p.m. April 20 and 21 and from 11
a.m. until 3 p.m. April 22 this year.
VictorianEra clothing and accessories
for adults and children will be available
for purchase from various vendors. New,
vintage and gently-used clothing will be
available.
There is a 42 per adult admission
charge. Cash sales are preferred as some
vendors may not accept checks or credit
cards.

teach males this very important life skill.

The Northville Chamber of
Commerce will present the annual State
of the Community Luncheon on
Wednesday, April 19, at the Schoolcraft
