Comedy Night, a fundraiser for the
Greater Romulus Chamber of Commerce, is

raffle, are priced at $45 per person.
There will be three comedy acts, a cash

RESOLUTION OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF CANTON WHEREAS,

year 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Federal Fair Housing Act: Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968,
as amended; and
WHEREAS,
this law guarantees that housing throughout the United States should be made available to all cit-
izens without regard to race, color, religion, sex, family status, disability or national origin; and
WHEREAS,
equality of oppor-
tunity for all is a fundamental policy of this nation, state and township; and
WHEREAS,
barriers which diminish the rights and
limit the options of any citizen will ultimately diminish the rights of all citizens.
NOWTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED

the Charter Township of Canton Board of Trustees designates the month of April 2018 as “Fair Housing Month” in Canton

holding township coffee sessions at local shops with no more than 2 board members attending. With the board’s approval, she
will set up a schedule and work through Kristen Thomas for community notification. Treasurer Slavens reminded the board of
the 2018 Township Water and Sewer Rate Town Hall meeting on Wednesday March 21 put on by Directors Faas and Trumbull.

Easter Eggstravaganzas
BELLEVILLE:
Flop E. Bunny will make a special visit
to Victory Park at Five Points in Belleville
beginning at noonSaturday, March 31.
The event, sponsored by the Belleville
Central Business Community, will include
a candy hunt for children, divided into age
groups. The first group which will include
toddlers to those 3-year-olds will begin the
hunt at 12:15 followed by children 4 and 5
years old who can start hunting for treats
at 12:30 p.m. Those 6 and 7 years old can
start their searches at 12:45 p.m. and at 1
p.m. children 8 to 10 can enjoy the search
for holiday treats.

with Flop E. Bunny by April Warner
Photography will be available. There is no
charge, but donations arewelcome.
Hot dogs and drinks will be available
for purchase by CAFS and the Kiwanis
Club members will have a book sale table
at the event.

The township will host continuous egg
hunts between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Canton will also host the Easter Bunny
Breakfast in the Summit ballroom just
prior to the Easter Egg Hunt. No pre-reg-
istration is necessary for the Easter
Eggstravaganza, however there is a $4 res-
ident and $5 non-resident fee per child

historically this is a well-attended event.

collect the Easter Eggs. In addition to the
egg hunt, there will be breakfast, a movie,
a visit with the Easter Bunny, face paint-

a fire truck and free books to take home.
Children under 1-year-old will be
admitted at no cost, the fee for children 1-
13 years of age is $3 and those 14 and
olderwill be admitted for $2.
WAYNE:
The annual Marshmallow Drop will be
presented in Wayne this year by HYPE
Athletics ofWesternWayne.
The event will take placeFriday, March
30 at AtwoodPark onBallfieldNo. 1.

age 4 and children with disabilities who
can find the treats beginning at 10 a.m.

The Easter Bunny will be in atten-
dance and children can complete an arts
and crafts project.
Door will open at 10:45 a.m. and
brunchwill be served at 11 a.m..
The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for chil-
dren ages 3 through 11. Those 2 and
younger are admitted at no cost with an
adult.
