Veterans set Fish Frys
PlymouthVFWPost 6695will host Friday
Night Fish Frys from 5-7 p.m. every Friday
night during Lent. The fish frys will contin-
ue throughMarch 30.
Menu choices include cod, walleye,
shrimp or chicken strips. Dinners include
French fries, baked potato or macaroni and
cheese, cole slaw, roll andbutter and coffee.
Therewill also be 50-50 raffles during the
dinners.
The Plymouth VFW Post is located at

GoneWith TheBreeze on stage
Inspire Theatre in Westland will present
Gone With The Breeze at 7:30 p.m. Fridays
and Saturdays Feb. 23 and 24 and at 3 p.m.
Sunday Feb. 25. There is also a special 3
p.m. matinee planned forFeb. 24.
When the nation hears that Lone Pine
Films is planning Gone with the Breeze as
its next picture, hundreds of aspiring young
actresses descend on the studio. The divas
make the burning of Atlanta seem like
child's play. One reigning studio queen
insists the part of the heroine, Jezebel
O'Toole, belongs to her and will stop at noth-
ing to get the part.

Indoor FarmersMarket planned
Spring is arriving early in Canton
Township where three indoor Farmers
Markets have beenplanned.
Food vendors, artisans, musical enter-
tainment and children's crafts will all be
available at the off-season market set for 10
a.m. until 2 p.m. Feb. 25 in the banquet lobby
in the Summit on the Park building. Indoor
markets are set forMarch 25 andApril 22, in
addition to theFebruary date.
Plenty of parking is typically available
toward the back of the Summit parking lot.
Market-goers are encouraged to enter
through the banquet doors.
Hours for the new season of the outdoor
Canton Farmers Market will be from 9 a.m.
until 1 p.m. beginning Sunday, May 13, and
continuing run every Sunday through Oct.

GriefShare programbegins
GriefShare is a 13-week, nondenomina-
tional program that focuses on grief topics
associated with the death of a loved one.
Whether the bereavement experience is
recent or not so recent, coping tools will be
available.
Meetings will take place at 6 p.m.
Thursdays at theRomulusWesleyanChurch
at Goddard andHuronRiverDrive.
The series will continue through May 17.
Participants may attend any or all meetings,
although the most benefit is received
throughattending everymeeting.
The seminar/support group features
DVDs with nationally respected grief
experts and real-life stories by people who
have experienced the pain of losing a loved
one, followedby groupdiscussion.
Grief-related handouts will be available
each week. Registration fee is $15 which
will include a journal/workbook that coordi-
nateswith theDVD lesson for eachweek.

BakedPotatoDinner planned
The Belleville Community Chorus will
host the 5th Annual Baked Potato Dinner
from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Open
Arms Lutheran Church, 7865 Belleville
Road. This popular meal is a fundraiser for
the chorus.
For a minimum donation of $5, meals
include a large baked potato with a choice
of toppings, plus a beverage and dessert.
Tickets may be obtained fromany Belleville
Community Chorus member prior to the
event or at the door.
Free dental care offered
A free dental care clinic, sponsored by
the Belleville Seventh-day Adventist
Church, will take place at Edgemont
Elementary School, 125 Edgemont St. in
BellevilleFeb. 24.
Services provided will include cleanings,
fillings and extractions performed by
Michigan-licensed professionals. All servic-
es will be on a first-come, first-served basis
and are free of charge.

SlowFlowYoga classes set
The City of Plymouth Recreation
Department will offer a six-weekAdult Slow
Flow Yoga class from 6:30 until 7:45 p.m.
Tuesdays beginning March 6 through April
24 or Thursdays, March 8 through April 26
at thePlymouthCultural Center.
This active, multi-level yoga class is
taught in a flowstyle format.
Cost for this class is $77 for city of
Plymouth Residents and $92 for non-resi-
dents.

A Matter of Balance, an award-winning
program designed to reduce the fear of
falling and increase seniors' activity levels

The classes are free and teach practical
strategies to manage falls, make changes to
reduce fall risks at home and improve bal-
ance and flexibility.

One-stop health screenings will be avail-
able from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday,

Screening includes blood pressure, cho-
lesterol and glucose (diabetes).
No fasting required and no appointment

the screenings which are offered through

The Northville Educational Foundation
will host a St. Patrick's Day Party from 7-11
p.m. Saturday, March 17, at Meadowbrook
CountryClub.
Presenting sponsor of the event is
Community Financial Credit Union. The
evening will feature epicurean delights of
Meadowbrook Country Club, including
heavy hors d'oeuvres and Irish fare station,
an open bar, complimentary valet parking,
entertainment, including Irish dancers and
DJ, a silent auction and more. The evening
is designed for those 21 and older.
Tickets are priced at $100 and proceeds
benefit the Northville Educational
Foundation and the many initiatives it sup-

Health workshop planned
The Sharon SDA Church will pres-
ent ‘What the Health’, a free workshop
about better health from 3-5 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 24.
The workshop will include a docu-
mentary film that organizers said has
transformed thousands of lives.
The workshop will help participants
to understand lifestyle diseases includ-
ing Type 2 Diabetes, high blood pres-
sure, high cholesterol and heart dis-
ease, along with offering possible ways
to prevent and reverse some health
threats.
The workshop is free and open to
the public and light refreshments will
be served.
