Conservatory. He graduated last year
with a DMA in Collaborative Piano
from the University of Michigan under
MartinKatz.
Kristine Overman, soprano, is cur-
rently pursuing her bachelor's degree
at the University of Michigan.
Originally from Farmington Hills,
Overman was the 2014 winner of the
Verdi Opera Theatre of Michigan
Italian Songs and Arias Vocal
Competition for Michigan high school
students. She has performed interna-
tionally with Oberlin in Italy's 2015 pro-
duction of Handel's “Serse”, as
Romilda, and recently debuted the role
of the Countess in Mozart's “Le Nozze
di Figaro”, with both Prague Summer
Nights under the direction of
renowned baritone Sherrill Milnes,
and with the University of Michigan
OperaTheater.
Rachel Miltimore, soprano, spent
seven seasons with the Michigan
Opera Theatre Children's Chorus serv-
ing as the head chorister. In her more
than 15 performances, she sang in
Carmen, The Mikado, La Boheme,
H.M.S. Pinafore, Carmina Burana,
Brundibar, and Turandot. She is a reg-
ularly featured soloist performing the
National Anthem and God Bless
America for the Detroit Tigers. She
recently won first place in the
Schoolcraft College vocal competition
and third place in the 2018 Verdi Opera
High School Vocalists Competition.
Miltimore has also performed with the
Brigham Young University Young
Ambassadors, and is an intern with the
RackhamSymphonyChoir.
Cole Harvey, tenor, graduated from
Milford High School and is attending
Michigan StateUniversity in the fall on
a full-tuition scholarship to study vocal
performance. He placed second at the
Verdi Opera Italian Songs and Arias
Vocal Competition this year, and he is
also a Michigan Thespian Scholarship
recipient and a 2017 MYAF Vocal
Finalist. He was part of the 2018 All
State Honor Choir, and received
Superior ratings from the Michigan
School Vocal Music Association for his
solo and ensemble singing as well as
for hismusical theater solo and ensem-
ble performances.
The Verdi Opera Theatre of
Michigan, founded in 1988 and based
in Canton, is a non-profit organization
dedicated to encouraging and support-
ing the development of young opera
singers, and to fostering appreciation
of the music of Giuseppe Verdi and
other composers of opera and popular
music.
