Joyful noise
Local opera stars will perform at festival Saturday
Three performers from the Verdi
Opera Theatre will perform during the
Canton Liberty Fest International
Festival June 16.
The three, special appearance by
sopranos Kristine Overman and
Rachel Miltimore, as well as Tenor
Cole Harvey, are scheduled to begin at
12:35 p.m. The performers will be
accompanied on piano by Joshua
Marzan.
Marzan is a freelance pianist in the
Southeast Michigan area. He currently
works for theUniversity of Michigan as
a staff pianist, playing with instrumen-
talists and coaching singers. He recent-
ly played for George Shirley's tribute
concert, performing with his former
students, including Lori Hicks, Darryl
Taylor, and Scott Piper. Before coming
to Michigan, Joshua received a BM
degree in Piano Performance from
Virginia Commonwealth University
and an MM and GD in Collaborative
piano from the New England
