St. Mary Mercy ‘celebrates heroes’ every day
St. MaryMercy Livonia is proud to support theNorthville
Independence Day Parade and recognize our heroes
through the parade's theme - CelebratingAmerica'sHeroes.
Throughout history and mythology, our culture has cele-
brated the hero - the person who seeks to conquer some-
thing colossal, scary and seemingly impossible. At St. Mary
MercyHospital Livonia, we are fortunate to encounter these
heroes every day. Courageous men and women walk
through our doors seeking comfort, assurance, care and sup-
port. They are brave and refuse to relinquish hope. It is
these individuals - our patients - who are our heroes.
Our patients come to us with illnesses, pain or distress.
They do not wake up in the morning hoping to be sick
enough to visit the hospital. They are burdened by insur-
mountable pain, uncontrolled symptoms, stress and worry-
ing diagnoses.
Yet, our patients arrive with resolve and hope. They
endure tests, procedures and rehabilitation; they withstand
introductions and instructions from new physicians, nurses,
aides and other specialists; they have courage and optimism
when they are presented with a diagnosis; and they use
their strength to fight illness. These patients inspire their
families, friends and our community to live life to the fullest.
They understand that every moment is precious and value
the time they havewith loved ones.
As we celebrate America's heroes in Northville's
Independence Day Parade, we encourage you to recognize
and appreciate the heroes in your life. Anyone who endures
and preservers is a hero. Commend their bravery and
remind themhowvery special they are to you.
