Community support grows for Plymouth Arts and Recreation Complex
As president of the Plymouth Arts &
Recreation Complex or PARC, Don
Soenen is confident about the $30 mil-
lion fundraising campaign now under
way.
“We've certainly had a lot of support
so far,” Soenen said in a recent inter-
view. “The idea is to raise as much
money in private funds as we can. We're
going to give it all we've got.”
Those private sources include indi-
viduals, foundations and companies, to
create a public-private partnership.
Soenen acknowledges a tax hike mill-
age request may be sought from
Plymouth and Plymouth Township vot-
ers.
“The amount we're talking about
here is pretty minimal,” he said. He
cited less than 1-mill, noting a cost if $15
million can be raised privately equaling
$5-6 amonth for an average homeowner
