Church hosts fish fries
St. Mary Catholic Church in Wayne is
hosting Lenten Fish Fries again this year.
The weekly Fish Fries will take place
from 4-7 p.m. on Fridays for seven weeks
throughGoodFriday, April 14.
Dinners are $7 or $10 and include a
choice of fried or baked fish, shrimp din-
ner or Mac-N-Cheese. Each meal comes
with French fries or baked potato, cole
slaw, roll and lemonade, water or coffee.
Desserts and pop are available for an
additional charge. Take outs are avail-
able.

Training sessions scheduled
Frog and Toad Survey training sessions
for those interested in monitoring the
health of the Rouge River will take place
from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, March
18 at Summit on the Park, 4600 Summit
Parkway inCantonTownship.
Each training session will focus on frog
and toad identification skills in order to
help volunteers determine different
species out in the field. Frogs and toads
are considered excellent indicators of the
environmental quality around us. The
more species a site can support, the better
thehabitat.
Training sessions are open to anyone,
child or adult, who is concerned about the
environment and wants to play an active
role inmonitoring its health. The sessions
are free and pre-registration is required.

Business Showcase planned
Community Financial will be the pre-
senting sponsor for the Northville
Business Showcase planned for 11 a.m.
until 2 p.m. March 18 at Northville High
School.
The spotlight will be on the Northville
Business Community and the event will
also celebrate Michigan Made Products
and Businesses. The business showcase
will featuremore than 70 diverse business
and professionals. Highlights include:

Free tax service available
Those with an annual household
income less than $54,000 may be eligible
for a free tax service available from 1-6
p.m. March 22. The free tax service is pro-
vided through the Wayne Metropolitan
Community Action Agency and will be
offered at theWaynePublicLibrary.
Walk-ins will be accepted, but an

Winter market opens
The Canton Farmers Market will
return with special Winter Markets on
Sundays in, March and April at the
Summit on the Park community recre-
ation center. The Markets will take place
from10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 19, and April
23, in the Banquet Lobby in the Summit
on the Park, located on 46000 Summit
Parkway inCanton.
More than a dozen vendors will be
onsite offering a wide assortment of
Michigan grown and made products,
including: honey, jam, cider, apples, arti-
san cheese and bread, baked goods, farm
eggs, seasonal produce grown in green-
houses and hoop houses (weather permit-
ting) and more. Bridge Card and Double
Up Food Bucks transactions will also be
accepted.

History lecture planned
The Old School Church in Mill Race
Village in Northville will host a lecture
documenting the history of the largest
commercial fishery on Saginaw Bay from
the 1850s to current times. The 150-year
visual history includes archival photos
and rare film footage from fisheries
aroundSaginawBay.
The presentation will take place begin-
ning at 7 p.m. March 22. the event is free
and open to the public.

HealthyCoalitionmeets
Beaumont Healthy Wayne Community
coalition is a partnership between
Beaumont Health, Wayne-Westland
Community Schools District and the City
of Wayne. The coalition meetings are an
effort to prevent the incidences of dia-
betes, cardio-vascular disease, and obesi-
ty in the City of Wayne by implementing
healthy eating and active living strategies
in the community, according to a
spokesperson.

the 4th Annual Read-In to celebrate
National Reading Month from 10 a.m.

County community College Western

The morning will include free books to
attendees 18 and younger; reading and
performing of original writings and litera-
ture of well-known American writers
along with book displays and reading lists

The Day of Review is an opportunity to review the Drainage District boundaries in
Wayne County and the apportionments of benefit for the Drains listed below with the
Drain Commissioner or a staff member. Maps depicting the proposed revisions to
the boundaries of each Drainage District can be reviewed at:
The Drain Commissioner, engineers and/or other staff members will be available to
assist individuals throughout the day, and make revisions where necessary. There is
no need to schedule an appointment for a specific time on the Day of Review. Drain
assessments are collected in the same manner as property taxes and will appear on
your winter tax bill. If drain assessments are being collected for more than one (1)
year, you may pay the assessment in full with any interest to date at any time and
avoid further interest charges.
Please note: The special assessment roll for the
North Branch Big Swan Creek Intercounty Drain has recently been revised and
updated. All assessments levied for the North Branch Big Swan Creek
Intercounty Drain in 2016 will be refunded.
A general description of the lands by section number proposed to be added or deleted
from the Drainage Districts as recommended by a licensed professional engineer or
surveyor for each of the Drains is as follows:

Day of Review should contact the Wayne County Drain Commissioner's Office at the
number noted above (voice) or through the Michigan Relay Center at 7-1-1 (TDD) at
least 24 hours in advance of the Day of Review to request mobility, visual, hearing or
other assistance.
You may appeal the Drain Commissioner's decision to revise the district boundary to
the Wayne County Circuit Court within ten (10) days, and you may also appeal the
determination of apportionments to the Wayne County Probate Court within ten (10)
days.
