There's nothing like a good laugh and
the Greater Romulus Chamber of
Commerce is counting on the humor of
three well-known comics to help raise
funds for the organization.
Comedy Night Auction and Dinner is
planned for 6-10 p.m. March 24 at the
Marriott Hotel at Detroit Metro Airport
and will feature entertainment from three
professional comedians, dinner, a cash bar
andboth live and silent auctions.
Tickets for the event, priced at $45 per
person, are limitedbut still available.
Featured comedians include headliner
Brad Tassell, a 25-year professional full-
time comedian. Most of his adult life,
Tassell has been touring the country per-
forming hilarious stand-up that is positive,
off kilter andwise.
Also performing will be Tonya Murray,
a graduate of Second City in Detroit.
Murray has written comedy for films and
has been working the metro Detroit and
Windsor comedy circuit. She has opened
for Jim Norton, Jeff Ross J. Newberg and
Rob Little.metro Detroit &Windsor come-
dy circuit and has opened for JimNorton,
Jeff Ross, J. ChrisNewberg&RobLittle.
Joining them will be crowd favorite
comic Ryan Listerman who has delighted
crowds with his humor throughout the
area at various venues and clubs.

Romulus officials are urging the clean-
up of theRomulusMemorial Cemetery this
month and have provided a dumpster on
site at the facility for discarded items
removedduring springmaintenance.
The historic cemetery is located at
Shook and Tobine roads and is the final
resting place of war heroes, political fig-
ures, a former major league baseball play-
er, and the remains of historic community
families spanning more than 180 years.
The cemetery was established in 1832, five
years before Michigan attained statehood
and was designated a historical landmark
in 1989.
City Clerk Ellen Craig-Bragg is the
record-keeper of the cemetery and she has
reminded residents with family members
interred there that it is time for somemain-
tenance at the site. She said that all floral
arrangements including wreaths and grave
blankets must be removed from the
grounds, or theywill be discarded.
The dumpster will be on site until
March 31, she said, for the use of those tidy-
ing up and removing debris from around
graves and tombstones. Hours at the ceme-
tery are 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Rules and regu-
lations regarding the cemetery are avail-
able at Craig-Bragg's office in city hall.

Chorus presents cabaret
Cemetery clean-up is urged
The Belleville Community Chorus
will present the 9th Annual Cabaret
performance at 3 p.m. Sunday, March
19 at Open Arms Lutheran Church,
7865BellevilleRoad.
The Cabaret program features cho-
rus members in solo, duet and ensem-
ble versions of pop, oldies, show tunes
and others. Though the concert is free,
donations to support the chorus are
encouraged and welcome. Food and
refreshmentswill be available.
Performers include friends and
neighbors from Belleville, Sumpter,
VanBuren, andYpsilanti.
