The Sumpter Township Parks and
Recreation Commission is a 12- mem-
ber volunteer group sponsored by the
Sumpter Township Board of Trustees.
They volunteer their time to provide
wholesome activities throughout the
year for families within the township.
The commission members work dili-
gently during the year to ensure the
success of all the events hosted by
Sumpter Township. Each member
takes the Mission Statement of the
commission very seriously and every
event is designed to adhere to those
guiding principles.
“It is the mission and direction of
the Parks &Recreation Commission to
provide an environment that is appro-
priate for the recreational activities
that occur within all of the public
parks and facilities of Sumpter
Township, to establish and set in place
the rules and regulations that will
ensure a safe and enjoyable recre-
ational experience, to encourage the
effective use of all the parks and recre-
ational facilities within Sumpter
Township, and to provide all citizens of
the Township programs that focus on
enhancing the quality of life in
Sumpter Township.”
