Rock ‘n’ roll and a lot of soul
The Madison Avenue Band will take to the stage at Westland Blues, Brews and Barbecue from 8-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug 4
bringing back festival favorites the Soul Brothers, a Blues Brothers tribute band. The Madison Avenue Band musicians
have been performing together for the better part of 25 years but treat every show as an opening night. “The secret to our
success is that we limit ourselves to the number of jobs we will book” said Chip Werner - bassist and band manager. “So
we are totally pumped for each performance we give.” Madison Avenue specializes in high-energy rock, rhythm and blues
with a great blend of old-school funk/disco. “We all grew up listening to Van Morrison, Chicago, and Wilson Pickett on the
radio,” said Mark Work - keyboards. The Blues Brothers tribute always brings the crowd to their feet and is expected to do
so again this year.
