Opening ceremony and ribbon cutting
7 p.m. Friday Jan. 6
Please join us as we officially open the 2017 Plymouth Ice
Festival. City of Plymouth commission members will be in
attendance to help cut the ribbon on the 2017 event.
DFCU Financial Lights the Ice
The Plymouth Ice Festival Ice Garden becomes even more
magical at night, as the ice carvings glow with color. Join
DFCU Financial and the Plymouth Ice Festival each night as
they Light The Ice. We will flip the switch during the opening
ceremony at 7 p.m. Jan. 6.
Winter Wonderland Michigan Market
Come check out Penniman Avenue near The Gathering and
Penn Theater for the Winter Wonderland Michigan Market.
The market will feature venders with products and foods from
around Michigan.

The Plymouth Ice Festival Ice Playground
Bring the kids and camera to an all-new attraction at the
Plymouth Ice Festival. The Ice Playground is packed full of
interactive ice carvings. There will be plenty of opportunities
for pictures while the kids play with the ice. This is simply a
“must see” at the festival this year.
Petting Farm
Located next to the Ice Playground, the Carousel Acres
Petting Farm will be offering a hands-on experience with
miniature horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, an alpaca and even
a calf . This activity is great for kids or those that are young at
heart. There may be more animals, depending on the tem-
peratures.

Dueling Chainsaws Competition
at 7 p.m. Saturday Jan. 7
In this great competition ice carvers are given 15 minutes, one
block and their chainsaws to create some of the most amaz-
ing ice carvings competing for top honors.
IHA Ice Carving Demonstration
and Nightly Entertainment
Come watch ice be turned into a wonderful work of art with
IHA on Jan. 6, immediately following opening ceremony at 7
p.m. Stay for the live DJ both Friday and Saturday night.
PARC Warming Station,
Winter Artisans Market and Free Family Activities
Feelin' Frozen? Find your way out of the cold and into PARC -
The Plymouth Arts and Recreation Complex, located at the
corner of Church and Main. The PARC warming station will be
open from noon until 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 and from noon
until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, serving FREE hot chocolate,
coffee, and snacks.
Winter Artisans Market - PARC
Noon until 5 p.m. both
Saturday, Jan. 7 and Sunday, Jan. 8
The Winter Artisan Market is organized by PARC-Plymouth
Arts and Recreation Complex to celebrate local culture, food,
fashion and art during the winter months.
Hansel and Gretel - PARC
Two FREE Performances.
At 1 and again at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7
Main Street Opera Theatre presents an abridged version of
Hansel and Gretel at the Plymouth Arts and Recreation
Complex. Based on the Brothers Grimm classic fairytale,
Engelbert Humperdinck's adaptation follows Hansel and
Gretel on a journey during which they meet the Sandman, the
Dew Fairy, and of course, the Witch.
Children will cheer when Hansel and Gretel use their cunning
wits and most importantly, their brave hearts to defeat evil and
live happily ever after. This production is just under an hour,
sung in English, and perfect for the whole family. There will
also be crafts for children and kids and pictures with the cast!
