The King of French Fries and Lemonade will be missed
during the Annual Belleville National Strawberry Festival
this year.
Paul Phillip Nerswick, 63, a former president of the
Strawberry Festival, died at his home in Springhill, FL
May 11.
Mr. Nerswick was a life-long resident of Belleville
where his reputation for French fries and lemonade was
honed. The son of Paul and Priscilla (Burr) Nerswick, he
was born Sept. 15, 1953 at Selfridge Air National Guard
Base.
He graduated from Belleville High School in 1972
where he was a member of the choir. In addition to his
involvement with the Strawberry Festival, Mr. Nerswick
was active with the Belleville Area Goodfellows where he
served as president, the September Days group and both
the Rebekah and Odd Fellows lodges. He was active, too,
with the Red Hat Ladies Society and the area 4-H Clubs
and countless other community organizations where he
generously gavehis time.
Mr. Nerswick was also known for his good humor and
the practical jokes he perpetrated on his friends and fami-
