Legislator sets coffee hour
State Rep. Kurt Heise will meet with res-
idents from 7:30-9 a.m. Friday, April 15 to
answer questions and give perspective on
matters in state government during his
monthly "CoffeeWithKurt."
The meeting will take place at Connor's
Family Dining, 15356 Haggerty Road in

School sets Tuesday tours
St. Mary Catholic School in Wayne is
hosting Tuesday Tour Days during the
monthof April.
Interested parents can drop in at the
school from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. or call for an
appointment to tour the school and meet
teachers and the principal. Classrooms will
be open for visits and registration and
tuition information for the 2016-2017 school

United Way Rake N Go, effort, organized in
partnership with Plymouth Community

help senior citizens and those with disabili-

Improv returns to TippingPoint
Tipping Point Theatre will present The
Return of Improv at the Point beginning at 7

evening of off-the-cuff comedy is in the style

MillerWoods tours offered
The Friends of Miller Woods will offer
tours of the area as they explore the native
spring wildflowers at the peak of their
spring showonSunday, April 17.
Tours are one hour long, are free to the
public, and begin at the entrance to Miller
Woods on Powell Road, between North
Territorial and Beck Roads. No dogs or
strollers are allowed in the nature preserve.
Tours start every half hour, beginning at
2 pp.m. with the last tour leaving at 3:30 pm.

Plymouth, Northville and surrounding
communities are invited to take part in the
Northville - Plymouth Health Expo planned
for 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. April 19.
Plymouth Community United Way in
partnership with Northville Parks &
Recreation and Plymouth Community
Council on Aging are presenting a free com-
munity health expo at Northville
Community Center, 303 West Main St.,
Northville.
Free health screenings will be available
along with prizes, free product samples and
information about health practices and
providers.

RainGardens, will be the topic of ameet-
ing of the Southeast Michigan Butterfly

Register for driver's course
Seniors have until April 21 to register for
a Smart Drivers Course sponsored by the
American Association of Retired People
which will take place from 9:30 a.m. until
1:30 p.m. May 4 and 5.
The fee is $15 for AARP members and
$20 for non-members.
Students will learn defensive driving
techniques and proven safety strategies. No
tests are required and upon completion, stu-
dent will receive a certificate.

Library hosts art institute speaker
Thursday, April 21, 7:00 pm: The
Belleville Area Council for the Arts (BACA)
will sponsors a guest speaker from the
Detroit Institute of the Arts Speakers'
Bureau at 7 p.m. April 21 at the Belleville
library.
The topic of his talk is "Let Me Tell You a
Story", and will center on the many ways
visual artists use stories as the source of
inspiration for their work. Refreshments

Calendar of events
The City of Romulus Annual Clean
Sweep Day will take place Saturday,
April 23.
Waste Management co-sponsors the
event.
Volunteers are welcome from all
around the community to clean up lit-
ter and spruce up public spaces
around the city.
No pre registration is necessary, vol-
unteers need only show up at 9 a.m. at
Romulus CityHall.
The event takes place rain or shine
so volunteers should dress appropri-
ately for the weather. All materials will
be provided.
