for the purpose of considering a variance request for BZA-2016-006, USF
Holland. The public hearing will be held at the Romulus City Hall Council Chambers, 11111 Wayne

The Board of Zoning Appeals has set the public hearing to consider the following:
In accordance with Section 20.07(e), a variance from Sections 8.04(a) and 11.12(b) of the Zoning
Ordinance is requested to expand the nonconforming parking along Inkster Road. The Ordinance
requires the front setback for a truck terminal in the M-T District to be 60 feet. The petitioner is
requesting a 41-foot front yard setback as part of an expansion of the truck terminal development.
The subject property is located at 27411 Wick. DP#: 80-049-99-0001-715 and 80-049-99-0001-705.

The Charter Township of Canton will provide necessary, reasonable auxiliary aids and services to individuals with disabilities at

The Northville Community
Foundation is searching for
Olympic athletes to help cele-
brate theFourth of July this year.
The foundation organizes and
coordinates the annual
Northville Independence Day
Parade, one of the largest in the
state, and this year chose Cheers
for Team USA! Celebrating the
2016 Summer Olympics as the
parade theme. To promote the
celebration of Olympic athletes,
the parade committee is hoping
to include past Olympic competi-
tors in the more than 100 parade
entries.
Former or current Olympic,
Paralympics or Special Olympic
athletes who have competed in
any sport during the summer or
winter games in any year are
invited to participate in the
parade this year, said Jessica
Striegle, the director of the
Northville
Community
Foundation.
The parade draws an estimat-
ed crowd of between 10,000 and
20,000 to the streets of downtown
Northville for what is described
as a real Norman Rockwell cele-
bration of the holiday. The
parade annually includes floats
of all descriptions, walkers,
marchers, bands, equestrians,
vintage and antique automo-
biles, local businesses, political
leaders and many celebrities
and teammascots.
“It is always a great day,”
Striegle said. “We begin planning
for it the day after the parade
and work the entire year to keep
it fresh and make improve-
ments.”

Golf manager is honored
The
Canton
Therapeutic
Recreation Program will host a bowl-
ing fundraiser beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 30 at PlazaLanes, locat-
ed at 42001 Ann Arbor Road, E., in
Plymouth.
The Therapeutic Recreation pro-
gram was recently honored with an
mParks “Excellence in Programming
Award,” presented by the Michigan
Recreation andParkAssociation.
During the past two years, this pro-
gram has served more than 240 fami-
lies with individuals who qualify for
these unique adaptive services.
Therapeutic Recreation (TR) accom-
modations typically include individual-
ized techniques and resources that
enhance participation by individuals
who are unable to accomplish tasks on
their own, without fundamentally alter-
ing a program.
Tickets for this event can be pur-
chased at the Summit on the Park front
desk, located at 46000 Summit
Parkway, Canton for $16 which
includes: two games of bowling, use of
rental shoes, and one large pepperoni
pizza with a pitcher of pop per lane.
Please note that each lane is restricted
to five bowlers.
This fundraiser supports all pro-
gramming activities offered by the
Canton Therapeutic Recreation
department.
