Marshmallow
Drop planned
for tomorrow
The Easter Bunny will drop
more than 20,000 marshmal-
lows onto waiting children at
11 a.m. tomorrow, March 25.
Wayne County Parks offi-
cials expect thousands of chil-
dren at the 32nd Annual
Marshmallow Drop which will
feature a helicopter visit from
theEaster Bunny and the drop
of themarshmallows. Children
usually race to pick up as
many marshmallows as possi-
ble that later can be redeemed
for a prize.
The lucky child who finds
the single colored marshmal-
low will receive a special
prize, officials said.
Participating children will
be separated in three age cate-
gories, 4-years-old and
younger, 5-7 years old and 8-12
years old, to ensure each child
receives a fair opportunity to
find a coloredmarshmallow in
the bunch. In 2015, nearly
5,000 children participated in
theMarshmallowDrop event.
“Wayne
County's
MarshmallowDrop has been a
cherished family tradition for
32 years,” said Wayne County
Executive Warren C. Evans.
“The MarshmallowDrop kicks
off a highly- anticipated season
of fun activities for our Parks
Division and we hope that res-
idents and visitors will join us
because it really is an exciting
time for the entire family to
enjoy.”
Pre-registration is not
required for this free event.
