Cruise is raffle prize
The Michigan Philharmonic will raffle
off a cruise through the Baltic Sea,
Scandinavia andRussia for two.
The 11-night trip includes air fare and
will take place aboard theRegal Princess of
Princess CruiseLines Aug. 4-19.
Tickets for the raffle are priced at $50
and only 400will be sold.
The cruise will depart fromCopenhagen
visiting the ports of Oslo, Norway; Berlin,
Germany; Tallinn, Estonia and spend two
days in St. Petersburg, Russia, Helsinki,
Finland andStockholm, Sweden.
The drawing of the winning ticket will
take place May 21 at the Plymouth Arts and
RecreationComplex.

Quilt showcontinues
The 20th Annual Quilt Exhibit will take
place at the Belleville AreaMuseumduring
themonth ofMarch.
The show this year is sponsored by the
Western Wayne County Quilt Guild and
Threads 'n' Treasurers of Belleville. Bed
turnings are planned every Friday and
Saturday. There will be a freememory quilt
presentation at the museum on Friday,
March 18.
Themuseum is located at 405Main St. in
downtownBelleville. Admission is $2.

Charity basketball game set
It is so on.
The 4th Annual St. Vincent DePaul
Charity Basketball Game is planned for this
Saturday, March 19 at the Belleville High
School gymnasium. Doors will open at 5:30
p.m. and the gamewill begin at 7.
Right now, the Crime Busters, a team of
police officers fromBelleville, Sumpter and
VanBurenhave the bragging rights for their
win last year. The Flame Fighters, however,
have said no to that, not this year and the
team of fire fighters from the same commu-
nities intend to take the title.
In addition to the game there will be a
Chinese auction of items including a 48-
inch smart TV, bicycles and many other
items donated to the charity.
Food and drinks will be available for
purchase.
OldRingers on stage
The 'Still Got It' Players is set to perform
"OldRingers" from throughMarch 20, in the
Biltmore Studio at The Village Theater at
CherryHill.
"Old Ringers" is an adult comedy written
by Joe Simonelli about four senior women
and one man who decide to start a phone
sex service to increase their strapped
incomes.
"Old Ringers" will feature 1 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday performances,
7:30 p.m. performances on Friday and
Saturday and a 2 p.m. Sundaymatinee.
Tickets are priced from $16-$18 each

BrunchwithBunny and
Easter EggHunt planned
The Romulus Recreation Department
will host Brunch with the Bunny at 10:30
a.m. Saturday March 19, just prior to the
annual EasterEggHunt.
Cost for the pancake breakfast craft and
photowith the bunny is $10.
The last day to pre-register for the
brunch by March 17 at the mayor's office at
Romulus City Hall, 11111 Wayne Road in
Romulus.
The Community Easter Egg Hunt will
take place at noon Saturday, March 19
behind the Romulus Senior Center, 36525
Bibbins in Romulus. The event is free for
those ages 11 and younger and will take
place rain or shine.
Participants should bring their own bas-
kets and photos with the Easter Bunny will
be available following the hunt for $3.

Friends plan fundraiser
A fundraiser to help Bill Gibson and his
family with growing medical expenses in
his fight against cancer is planned for 7 p.m.
until midnight March 19 at the Romulus
Progressive Hall, 11580 Ozga Road in
Romulus.
Gibson is a long-time and well-known
City of Romulus employee.
Admission to the event is a $10 donation
per person. Contributions from those who
cannot attend are also welcome, city
employees said.

An Irish Corned Beef Dinner is planned
at the Wayne County Fairgrounds, 10871
QuirkRoad inBelleville beginning at 6 p.m.
March 19.

County Fair Grounds, a nonprofit organiza-
tion.

A fundraising event for the Belleville
Community Chorus is planned from 4-7

ets for the array of beers andwines.

Balance classes offered
Wayne Senior Services will offer A
Matter of Balance exercise classes from 11
a.m. until 2 p.m. beginning March 22. The
classes are free for those 60 and older and
made possible through a joint effort with

Wayne.

Free promdresses offered
Free promdresses are available for high
school seniors as part of the Princess for a
Day program at Crafted Modern
Handmade, 204 East Columbia Ave. in
Belleville.
The dresses will be given away, by
appointment only, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
April 2. Girls must pre-register at

belleville/crafteds-prom-dress-giveaway.
Each girl will be given an appointment
time to choose a dress fromwhat organizers
describe as a large selection in sizes from 2
to 26.
Donations of prom and homecoming
dresses along with formal or party dresses,
shoes, purses and accessories are also
being sought.
The items should be new or gently used
from years 2008 through 2016, organizers
said.

A little Nunsense
Sister Robert Anne will teach a cabaret
class as a fundraiser for Tipping Point
Theater at 8 p.m. Friday March 18 and
Saturday, March 19. In this one-woman
show, Sister Robert Anne showcases
an exclusive collection of songs from
the entire Nunsense series, inter-
spersed with humorous stories and
audience interaction. Sonja Marquis
will portray the rowdiest Little Sister of
Hoboken, accompanied by Tyler
Driskill. The theater is located at 361 E.
Cady St. in Northville. All tickets are
