Butterfly Ball tickets on sale
Tickets for the Valentine's
DayButterflyBall inCanton are
nowon sale.
The dance returns to the
Summit on the Park Feb. 9 and
10, offering a unique experi-
ence and plenty of special
memories for dads and daugh-
ters.
The evening will include
dancing, refreshments, a spe-
cial butterfly souvenir, and the
highly anticipated- balloon drop
that caps off the festivities.
Three dances are scheduled
this year, 6 p.m. Feb. 9 and 2 or 6
p.m. Feb. 10.
All three dances will in the
Summit Gymnasium.
Tickets are $11 for Canton
residents and $14 for non-resi-
dents. All ticket sales will end
Feb. 1. Dads and daughters,
regardless of age, are required
to purchase a ticket to attend.
This annual event has sold out
in the past, so early ticket pur-
chase is advised.

Join Mary Todd Lincoln on
the day before her husband's
birthday for a tea at the
Plymouth Historical Museum
from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11.
Mrs. Lincoln, portrayed by Pam
Dawson, will discuss her earli-
est recollections, through her
courtship and marriage to
Abraham Lincoln, up to his
election to thePresidency.
Tea and delicacies will be
catered by Diann's Catering,
including the special tea of the
museum, “Mary'sBlend.”
Ticket holders who arrive at
the Plymouth Historical
Museum before the tea are wel-
come to visit the “Here Comes
the Bride” special exhibit,
whichwill be open to the public
until June 17. Doors for “Tea
with Mrs. Lincoln” will open at
1:50 p.m.

Blanket drive under way
A blanket drive to benefit the
Michigan Veterans Foundation
is now under way in Romulus
collecting new and gently used
blankets, comforters, quilts,
afghans and twin size sheet sets.

The Arbor Hills Community
Advisory Group will meet at 7
p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 at the
HiltonGarden Inn inPlymouth.
The meeting is a regular
gathering of neighbors of Arbor
Hills and environmentally con-
cerned professionals represent-
ing Washtenaw and Wayne
counties. It serves as an adviso-
ry body to Advanced Disposal
and an informational and com-
munications resource to those
in and around Salem, Plymouth
andNorthville townships.
The meeting is open to the
public. Discussion will focus on
odor issues and hazardous
waste.

Jazz @ The Elks will present
the Emma Aboukasm quartet

Aboukasm, a senior at
University of Michigan, has

Daddy Daughter Dance set
The City of Plymouth will
host
the
6th
Annual
Daddy/Daughter Dance from
6:30 until 8:30 p.m. on both
Friday, Feb. 2 and Saturday,
Feb. 3, at the Plymouth Cultural
Center.

snacks will be served. Semi-for-

Firefighters teachCPR
The Plymouth Township
Fire Department is offering
CPR Classes monthly to all resi-
dents and groups in Plymouth
Township.
The fire department is an
American Heart Association
Certified Training site for
Heartsaver CPR and other first
aid techniques.
These sessions are free for
township residents. For non-
residents, there is a nominal fee
for books and CPR cards.
Anyone interested in learning

Enrollment must be com-

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ),
Waste Management and Radiological Protection Division
(WMRPD), hereby gives notice of their intent to issue a haz-
ardous waste management facility post-closure operating license
(License) renewal, pursuant to Part 111, Hazardous Waste
Management, of the Michigan Natural Resources and
Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended, to
Waste Management of Michigan, Inc. (WMM) for the Woodland
Meadows North Landfill. The License approval will allow
WMM to continue to maintain their closed hazardous waste land-
fill facility located at 4620 Hannan Road in Canton Township,
Michigan.
The DEQ invites public comment on the draft License renewal.
The public comment period begins January 18, 2018 and ends
March 5, 2018.
The draft License and Fact Sheet may be reviewed at the Canton
