Watson was a member for 20 years and John Krushlin has
been on the volunteer fire squad for 32 years. His wife,
Jamie Krushlin, is also a member and was the first female
       officer on the department.
The four Krushlin children all built their family homes
in Sumpter Township and work locally. Maryann works
with the Sumpter Township Senior Department; John has
been with the Sumpter Township Water Department since
1987 and Marty worked for L&W Engineering in Van Buren
Township for more than 20 years. He is now working at
Trenton Engine South. Tom is working with the Martins at
Martin & Son, a local family business in the township.
Ellen, the anchor of the family, passed away in 2017, but
the fond memory of her supervising the neighborhood chil-
dren and grandchildren at the school bus stop, ensuring
their safety each day, lives on with many friends and neigh-
       bors,
The Sumpter Township community is thankful to the
entire Krushlin family which now includes Dan Watson,
       Melissa, Tammy and Jamie Krushlin.
The long history of volunteer service to the township by
the Krushlin Family is being recognized this year as they
       are named the Honored Citizens.
