Letters toSanta accepted
Canton Leisure Services has made
special arrangements with friends at the
North Pole and the US Post Office to
deliver wish list letters to Santa. To mail
a letter to Santa, drop it in theNorth Pole
Express Mailbox in the Summit on the
Park lobby through Nov. 30. Santa asks
that you print your name and address
clearly so he may directly reply to your
letter.

Tony Sacco's aids UnitedWay
Tony Sacco's of Canton and Plymouth
Community UnitedWay are partnering to
collect warmwinter wear and blankets to
help keep the homeless a bit warmer.
Tony Sacco's will be giving away $5 gift
certificates for hats, gloves, scarves, and
socks, while $10 gift certificates will be
given for new coats and blankets that are
donated. All items donated must be new.
Gift certificates are valid for next visit.
Tony Sacco's will also donate 20 per-
cent of each patron's bill to Plymouth

Holiday help available
The Belleville GoodFellows will be
accepting applications for Belleville and
VanBurenTownship residents until Dec.
4. Applications will be available at the
VanBurenTownshipHall.
The Goodfellows provide Christmas
gifts for newborns - up to age 15 and food
for seniors. For more information on
ways to help the Goodfellows, contact

The First United Methodist Church
will be distributing Christmas food bags
Dec. 15-17. To make a donation of non-

Applications for Christmas help will
be accepted Dec. 1 - 4. For Christmas,
The Salvation Army will distribute gifts
for newborn through seniors in high
school including food, food for both sen-
iors and singles and couples without chil-
dren. Proof of residency, identification
and proof of income for the household
will be required.

RedRyder Christmas on display
The Plymouth Historical Museum is
showcasing a new exhibit, "A Red Ryder
Christmas Story." The exhibit draws its
inspiration fromthe popular 1980smovie,
A Christmas Story, in which the main
character, Ralphie, longs for a Red Ryder
BBgun for Christmas.
The exhibit includes period toys, cloth-
ing, and other artifacts. Visitors familiar
with themoviewill get a chuckle fromthe
vignettes showing the Parker's living
room, complete with "FRA-GEE-LAY"
lamp; Flick getting his tongue stuck on a
metal pole; the window at Higbee's
Department Store and other memorable
moments.
Each Saturday, fromNov. 28 until Dec.
19, Santa Claus has promised to be pres-
ent for visiting children. The museum is
open 1-4 p.m. on Saturdays, as well as
Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Santa
has also agreed to be available from 10
a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, during
the Annual Open House, Craft Show and
BakeSale at themuseum.

ArtWear DETROIT inNorthville
The Northville Art House will feature
the ArtWear DETROIT Trunk Show from
10 a.m. until 3 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 28,
Small Business Saturday.
The works are by Michigan artists
from the Detroit Urban Design Studio
and include original wearable art hand-
bags, clothing and accessories.
Also exhibiting in the upper gallery
through Dec. 12 is the All Media Small
Works exhibit featuring 120 works of art
limited to 12x12-inches by artists through-
outMichigan and several other states.

Teddy Bear Toss set
USA Hockey and Plymouth
Community United Way are partnering
for the annual Teddy Bear Toss at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 5. Simply bring a new
stuffed animal, or buy a teddy bear at the
game for just $5, to throw on the ice after
the National Team Development
Program's first goal. All proceeds and
stuffed animals go to Plymouth
CommunityUnitedWay.
Show your stuffed animal at the game
and receive a raffle ticket to win a suite
for a future 2015-16 NTDP home game.
The prize includes 20 suite tickets and
$150 food voucher.
Teddy bears will be available for pur-
chase at the game, but bringing new
stuffed bears is encouraged. To purchase

Hats For Homeless needed
The Plymouth Community UnitedWay
is sponsoring a Hats For The Homeless
drive throughDec. 18.
Donors are asked to drop off new hats,
mittens, gloves, scarves, blankets, and
socks at Plymouth Community United

a.m. until 4:30 Monday - Thursday and

Kalamazoo on stage
Tipping Point Theatre will present
Kalamazoo by Michelle Kholos Brooks
and Kelly Younger throughDec. 20 with a
special NewsYear'sEve performance.
Kalamazoo curtain time is 8 p.m.
Thursdays through Saturdays, with mati-
nees at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on
Sunday. A special matinee performance
has been added at 3 p.m. Wednesday,
Dec. 9.
On New Year's Eve, the performance
of Kalamazoo will include an afterglow
provided by Rocky's of Northville, and a
toast to the New Year with beer, wine,

Simply Dickens at museum
The Plymouth Historical Museum will
present the popular Simply Dickens
Christmas Show for the fifth year at 7
p.m.Wednesday, Dec. 9.
The show highlights the carols that
were well known long ago during the
Christmas season but are rarely heard by
modern ears, along with a few of the
more familiar tunes. There are also
comedic holiday skits performed by
groupmembers.
Simply Dickens is a period-dressed
quartet of trained vocalists andmusicians
that specializes in the music of the 18th
and 19th centuries.
Tickets to the show are $10 in advance
and $15 at the door. Museum doors will
open at 6 p.m. Visitors can also tour the
special museum exhibit A Red Ryder
Christmas Story.

Blankets are needed
Plymouth Community United Way is
holding a Blanket Drive in support of the
homeless community through Jan. 15,
2016.

Story time for families set
The Belleville Are District Library
hosts Family Storytime at 6:30 p.m.
throughDec. 14.
The storytime is for children in pre-
school through elementary classes, ages 4
through 10.
Toddler Time storytimes take place at
11 a.m. on Tuesdays through Dec. 15 and
at 11 a.m. Thursday mornings through
Dec. 17.
This program is designed for children
ages 2 through 4.

The library will host Santo from 6:30
until 8 p.m. Dec. 21.
Spectacular tickets on sale
The Central City Christmas
Spectacular will celebrate the magic of
Christmas like never before with an all-
new, unforgettable experience as Santa
Claus, Mrs.C, and Ellie take center stage
with a large cast of performers from
throughout the area.
Audiences will get a sneak peek at
what really happens in the North Pole as
Santa and his elves prepare for the big
day.
Therewill be twirling ballerinas, danc-
ing Toy Soldiers and a sleigh ride around
the world with Santa and his magical
reindeer.
Seven performances are planned at
the Village Theater at Cherry Hill, in
Canton, at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday,
Dec. 14 and 15,at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
on Saturday, Dec. 16 and at noon and 4
p.m. on Sunday Dec. 17 through Dec. 20.
Tickets are $23 and are on sale at Central
City Dance Center, 6700 Canton Center
Road, Canton. Tickets are reserved seat-
ing and cannot be purchased the day of
the show.
