Toddler Story Time under way
Story Time for children up to 4 years
of age is now available from 10:30 until
11:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the Romulus
PublicLibrary.
The hour includes playtime, stories
and crafts. Older childrenmay attend, but
must be accompanied by an adult. Story
timeswill continue throughDec. 20.

Art entries sought
Entries are nowbeing accepted for the
8th annual Belleville Community Art
Show.
The exhibit will take place Oct. 27
through 29 at the Belleville Yacht Club
(BYC) and is organized by the Belleville
AreaCouncil for theArts.

$25,000 raffle under way
Tickets for the second annual
Northville Educational Foundation
$25,000 Cash For College Raffle are now
available.
Tickets are priced at $50 each, or
three for $100. Proceeds from the raffle
benefit the Northville Educational
Foundation and the 7,300 students in the
district. If ticket sales total less than
$50,000, the prize will revert to a 50/50
drawingwithaminimumof a $1000 prize.
The drawing will take place at about
7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at downtown the
NorthvilleTreeLighting Ceremony in the
Town Square just after the Holiday
Lighted Parade. Ticket holders need not
be present towin.
Tickets will be sold until the start of
the parade Nov. 17, or until all 1500 tick-
ets are sold, whichever comes first.

Health Fair vendors sought
The Romulus Senior Center Annual
Health Fair is now accepting vendors for
the event planned forOct. 10.
Health professionals can highlight
their companies with the senior commu-
nity. Table space rental is $100. Gifts to be
raffled off are also being sought.
Set up will begin at 9 a.m. and the fair
will be open from9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Church hosts grief program
GriefShare, a 13-week program for
those grieving the death of a loved one
which includes seminars and a support
group along with DVDs, a workbook and
group discussions is planned at Romulus
Wesleyan Church, from 6-8 p.m. from
Sept. 7 throughDec. 14.
There is a $15 registration fee which
includes the cost of theworkbook/journal.

Acting auditions scheduled
Auditions for the Plymouth Uptown
Players Youth Theater are set for 5:30-
7:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Plymouth
CommunityArts Council.
Plymouth Uptown Players Youth
Theater is a cooperative program hosted
by the Plymouth Community Arts Council
featuring directors from Tipping Point
Theatre inNorthville. The fall program is
for ages 6 - 15.

current PCAC student membership ($30),
good for a year. Tuition includes two tick-
ets per actor for the final performance.

Legislators host coffee hour
Wayne County Commissioner Glenn S.
Anderson will be hosting a Coffee Hour
in Westland with elected officials from
the State of Michigan from 9-10 a.m.
Monday, Sept. 11. Coffee Hour in
Westland will be co-hosted with State
Reps. Robert Kosowski and Jewell Jones
at Mr. Mike's Grill, located at 6047 North

Storytimes are planned for September

Library.
Family Storytimes will take place at
6:30 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 11 - Oct. 16 for
children ages 4-10; Fall Tuesday "Toddler
Times" are planned for 11 a.m. Sept. 12 -
Oct. 17 for children ages 2-4 and Fall
Thursday "Toddler Times" will take place
at 11 a.m. Sept. 14 - Oct. 19, also for chil-
dren ages 2-4.

StinsonAircraft isHistorical Society topic
The Wayne Historical Society will
present a programon the StinsonAircraft
Company at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the
WaynePublicLibrary.
Stinson Aircraft had factories in
Detroit, Northville and Wayne. Aviation
historianCarl Shemwell, andmembers of
the Stinson family will share details of
the life and legacy of Eddie Stinson dur-
ing the program.
The program is free and open to the
public.

Veterans seminar planned
Canton Community Foundation, in
partnershipwithLegal Help for Veterans,
PLLC and Plymouth Community United
Way, will present the 8thAnnual Veterans'
Summit at Kresge Hall at Madonna
University. The free event will take place
from 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday, Sept.
13.
Several topics will be discussed
including property taxes, updates on ben-
efits, and health care updates. Patrons of
the event will also be able to meet repre-
sentatives of VAMC-Ann Arbor and
Detroit, and learn about the Freedom
Center, FisherHouse andStiggy'sDogs.
A boxed lunch will be provided at the

Market celebrates autumn
The Westland Farmers and Artisans
Market will celebrate autumn with a Fall
Festival planned from3-7 p.m. Sept 14.
Along with more than 30 vendors and
artisans, there will be special seasonal
items during the day. An autumn floral
arrangement donated by My Lady's
Florist will be awarded to the winner of a
raffle plannedduring the day.
The market takes place at 1901 N.
Carlson, south of Ford Road in Central
City Park. Vendors will be selling pro-
duce, plants, fresh foods and crafts. There

host a four-day White Elephant Garage
Sale from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14,

until 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17.

include household items, toys, tools,
