2 arrested in break-in

‘No Stone Unturned’ this weekend
2 face trial in death of teens
Two men have been arrested in the
break-in and robbery of a home in
Romulus in the early hours of last
Wednesdaymorning.
At approximately 12:27 a.m. July 23,
Romulus Police Officers responded to a
911 call reporting a home invasion in the
9400 block of Biddle.
According to police reports, three sus-
pects allegedly forced their way into the
home and ordered the victims into a bed-
room at gunpoint. One of the men was
armed with a black shotgun and the
other with an unknown type of handgun,
according towitness accounts.
The victims were able to escape out
the bedroom window while the suspects
were ransacking the home.
Police said witnesses reported that a
TV, an iphone and other electronics were
taken fromthe inside the home.
Romulus police arrested a 27-year-old
man from Detroit and a 20-year-old man
from Romulus a short time later. The
third suspect remains at large.
Police did not recover any weapons
from the suspects but Romulus Police
Department evidence technicians col-
lected several pieces of evidence from
the interior and exterior of the resi-
dence.
Detectives have forwarded a report of
the investigation to the Wayne County
Prosecutor for review.
Fresh off their successful run of Steel
Magnolias, Inspire Theatre allows no
grass to grow beneath their feet or "No
StoneUnturned" as they amp up for their
summer spectacle of the same name.
Written by local playwrights Joe Davis
and Len Fisher, "No Stone Unturned," is
a farcical takeoff of themurdermysteries
of the 1940s. Spade Stone is a struggling
private investigator with too few cases
and one too many girlfriends. The trou-
ble starts when the beautiful film star,
Lola Winkleman, walks in and offers
Stone and his partner, Patrick O'Malley,
$2,000 to findhermissing sister.
Hosting its third show in as many
months, "No Stone Unturned" was origi-
nally written as an untitled after-dinner
sketch. After losing their lease in the
spring of 2013, Inspire Theatre began
looking for material that had no scene
changes and could rely on few props and
set pieces. Costumer LaDonna Davis
approached her son, a local comedian
who does stand up. JoeDavis, who is also
the executive producer of Motor City
Improv, wrote a sketch about a down-on-
his-luck private investigator. Inspire
Theater was located in a local church
before finding permanent housing in the
warehouse district of Westland. The 5000
square feet space is shared by First
Impressions Acting led by local film
actress TonyaDallas of Belleville.
"No Stone Unturned" is reminiscent
of the parodies of the old Carol Burnett
Show. The show times are 7:30 p.m. on
Friday andSaturdayAug. 1 and 2. Tickets
are $10 and can be purchased at the door,
on line at inspiretheatre.com, or
reserved ahead of time by calling (734)
751-7057.

non-profit organizations that
volunteer during the two-day
event

generous sponsors have
allowed us to donate nearly
$60,000 back to local non-profit
organizations which provide
shelter, clothing and food to
those in need in our communi-
ty,” notedMayorWilliamWild.

lar micro-brewed beers. Friday

The city is seeking sponsor-
ships for the event. Sponsors
will be promoted in a compre-
hensive marketing strategy
including TV, radio and cre-
ative print advertisements and
signage, before and during the
event. Sponsorships are avail-
able at various levels from $500
to $5000with varying degrees of
publicity. There are also oppor-
tunities for both a $10,000 and
