Stevenson ‘Einsteins’ are new Book Battle champions
The Einsteins from Stevenson Middle School took
home the Battle of the Books trophy this year, squeak-
ing past 10 other teams of avid readers.
Each year, the William Faust Westland Public
Library hosts the contest for seventh and eighth grade
students who prepare by reading five books and then
studying and quizzing each other about the details in
the text. Students from Franklin and Stevenson middle
schools then compete at the library to determine which
team can amass the most points for correct answers.
This year, 10 teams participated in the competition
which is a partnership between the library and the
Wayne-Westland community Schools district.
Organizers noted that participation increases each
year.
