Free legal assistance offered
Neighborhood Legal Services of Michigan
will offer a free presentation for Wayne
County residents, 60 and older, at 10 a.m. Feb.
21 at the Wayne Community Center, 4635
HoweRoad inWayne.
Following the presentation, seniors may
speak with an attorney who will offer legal
assistance on most civil cases including wills,
guardianship, trusts, power of attorney, assist-
ed living and othermatter.

Creative ArtsCamp offered
The Plymouth Community Arts Council is
offering a Creative Arts Camp for ages 6-12
during spring break.
The camps will take place from 9:30 a.m.
until noon April 10 through April 13. Fees are
$65 for council members and $75 for non
members.
Activities include ceramics, painting,
drawing, printing, theater games andmore.

Commissioner sets hours
Wayne County Commissioner Joan
Gebhardt (D-District 12) will be resuming
office hours in Westland, Inkster and south
Livonia beginning onPresidentsDay, Feb. 20.
She will be at YWCA, 26429Michigan Ave.,
Inkster, at 10 a.m. At noon, she will be at
Panera Bread, 35300 Warren Road, Westland
and she will meet constituents at 6 p.m. at
Biggby Coffee, 11003 Middlebelt Road,
Livonia.
“I know my constituents will have plenty
to discuss once my office hours resume and I
will be ready and looking forward to meeting
them and listening to every concern they
have,” Gebhardt said. “In the meantime, my

Seniors plan casino visit
Seniors will visit the Motor City Casino on
Feb. 21. A bus leaves at 9 a.m. from the
Romulus Senior Center, 36525Bibbins.
The cost is $10 per person. The casino pro-
vides $20 in credit upon arrival.

Students host blood drive
The Student Council at Hillside School
will host a blood drive from2-8 p.m. Feb. 22 at
the school
The blood drive is sponsored by the
American Red Cross and appointments can
be made on line to donate at www.redcross-
blood.org and click on donating blood, type in
the sponsor code: northvilleschools in the
sponsor code area, click and find Hillside
Middle School.
Church serves fish dinners
St. Aloysius Catholic Church will serve all-
you-can-eat fish dinners from4:30 until 7 p.m.
on Fridays during Lent, beginning Feb. 24
throughMarch 30.
Dinners include fried fish, macaroni and
cheese, seasoned potatoes or French fires,
green beans, Cole slaw, dinner roll, dessert
and a beverage.
The price for adult meals is $8. Meals for
children 10 and younger are $4 and those
younger than 3 eat at no cost with the pur-
chase of an adult meal. Carry out dinners ar
prices at $8.

UndergroundRailroad is topic
The Underground Railroad in Michigan
will be the topic of a special presentation at
the Northville District Library at 7 p.m. Feb.
27.
Carol Mull, the author of The
Underground Railroad in Michigan will dis-
cuss the vital role in the national effort to end
slavery Michigan played in a visual presenta-
tion about anti-slavery sentiment and the net-
work of escape routes inMichigan.
The program will take place in the main
meeting roomof the library.
The event is free and suitable for ages 12
and older.

Pre School Art classes available
The Plymouth Community Arts Council is
offering Pre School Art Classes for toddlers
and preschoolers. Included activities are
printmaking, paint, clay and drawing for ages
2 ½ to 4 ½ on Wednesdays beginning Feb. 29
untilMarch 28.
Tuition is $80 or $65 formembers.
The council is also offering the Littlest
Artist Studio for children 4-5½years old from
9:30 - 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 through

Oldest profession on stage
The Spotlight Still Got It Players will pres-
ent “The Oldest Profession” by Paula Vogel
March 1-4 at the Biltmore Studio in the

planned at noon March 1, at 2 and 7 p.m.
March 2 and 3 and at 2 p.m. March 4.

Snowman photos sought
The City of Plymouth Recreation
Department is accepting entries into the
Snowman Photo Contest until 4:30 p.m.
March 2. Judging will take place the week of
March 5 and the winner announced March
12.
Children are encouraged to build a snow-
man, dress him up and take a photo to email
to lbosniuk@ci.plymouth.mi.us. Photos can
also bemailed to theRecreationDepartment,

Plymouth bridal showplanned
