Northville Township even further up the lad-
der of sustainable property values and desir-
able places to live. But this is something that
can't be done in two years, or five-maybe not
even 10. Put a frame around the plan and put
it up in township hall to let every resident
and visitor knowof the potential of that prop-
erty.
In the meantime, township officials would
be wise to go after the proverbial low-hang-
ing fruit and to address the biggest unan-
swered questions of that night: when will the
buildings come down, and when will resi-
dents be able to enjoy this property, which
they are already paying for?
calling and emailing. See, each of them
only has to actually understand their own
little parochial political domain. They
think that because it is the most important
issue in the world to them, it must be, to
me, too. Don't getmewrong, it is important.
If anyone thinks otherwise, simply look
at the errors in judgment that currently
serve as elected officials in the area. That
should make us all snap to attention to be
surewe at least try to do better if the oppor-
tunity presents himself.
So I am going to do my best to learn
which districts serve which communities
and where the boundaries are and who is
running forwhatever office.
It seems that many of these professional
“public servants” have found their true
calling in politics and really don't care too
much what the office is, which district or
area it's in or who they are actually sup-
posed to represent.
They do it for the money. It's a job. A
good one, and a lucrative position which
looks great on a resume, but it is still a job.
And the voters are the ones doing the hir-
ing----so we need to be very, very careful
because these people will promise us any-
thing and everything, make commitments
they have noway of fulfilling andmisrepre-
sent their skills and experience to convince
us to hire themwith our votes. Once we do,
well, good luck kiddo. We're stuckwith 'em.
There is one thing, however, about
which I know they are all in accord.
There will be hell to pay if their pay-
check is late.
