Simply Diamond is Saturday
Simply Diamond, a Neil Diamond Tribute,
is planned as a benefit for the Westland
Community Foundation, the Canton
Partnership for the Arts and Humanities and
theWestlandChamber of Commerce.
Tickets for the 2 p.m. show Jan. 18 are $25.
tickets for the 6:30 reception followed by the
show at 8 p.m. Jan. 18 are $75. The evening
show includes a strolling dinner and cocktail
reception.
Both performances will be at The Village
theater at CherryHill, 50400 CherryHill Road
inCanton.

Grief support available
NewHope Center for Grief Support is pre-
senting a half-day grief workshop entitled
“From Grief to New Hope,” sponsored by
Plymouth First United Methodist Church.
Theworkshopwill take place from9 a.m. until
12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the church.
The workshop is free and open to anyone
grieving after the death of a loved one. It will
be presented by New Hope's Executive
Director Karen Laing. The session will pro-
vide an overview of the grief process and will
also give participants an opportunity to talk in
small groups and one-on-one.

the guest speakers at the Belleville Area
Chamber of Commerce business lunch Jan.

The event will take place at Wayne County
Community College District Western Campus,

lunch will be served at noon, prior to the
speakers providing an update on the tri-com-
munity area.

Celebrate Inkster Saturday
The Inkster Task Force will be hosting a
Celebrate Inkster event to celebrate the city.
The event will take place from 2-5 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 25 at the city recreation center.

ment, food, recognition of the community, and

Stonefly search scheduled
Friends of the Rouge has scheduled the
annual Winter Stonefly Search from 9 a.m.
until 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at the
Environmental Interpretive Center at the
University of Michigan Dearborn campus,
located at 4901EvergreenRoad inDearborn.
The Winter Stonefly Search is funded by
the Alliance of Rouge Communities. For more

Helpwith grief offered
Arbor Hospice is offering a round of free
grief support programs in Plymouth. Support
groups and events are open to everyone,
regardless of whether their loved one
received services fromArborHospice.
All programs are free, but donations are
welcome.
An eight-week group, Loss of a Spouse or
Partner, will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. Jan.
26 through March 16 at Arbor Hospice, 40500
AnnArborRoadEast, Suite 102Plymouth.

School hosts open house
In conjunctionwith Catholic SchoolsWeek,
St. Mary Catholic School in Wayne will be
hosting a School Open House from 11 a.m.
until 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26.
The event is open to anyone who may be
interested in enrolling a child in school for
grades Preschool 3, Preschool 4, and
Kindergarten through 8th grade. Visitors will
have an opportunity to meet teachers and
administration, as well as view classrooms
and work done by students. The Learning
Specialist will be available to discuss extra
help that is available to students during the
school day as well as after school small group
tutoring. Students from themiddle school will
also be demonstrating a dissection in the sci-
ence lab.
Tuition amounts for the 2014-2015 school
yearwill be available, aswell as possible grant
information. Registrationswill be taken.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, Act 110 of 2006,
as amended by PA 12 of 2008 and as provided under this act, the City of Inkster's Zoning
Board of Appeals will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 6:00
