This year Canton celebrates 30 years of Liberty Fest fun! With the exception of COVID years,
our community welcomes friends and neighbors to Heritage Park every summer for a festival
that is packed with great entertainment, delicious food, thrilling rides and catchy music. This
year's Fest offers all of that and more!
New for this year is a Liberty Fest mobile app. Festival-goers will be able to access all things
Liberty Fest-related, including: entertainment schedules with performer information, Carnival
Zone news about amusement rides and Midway games, Liberty Run details, and festival food
and drink specifics. Just scan this QR code to download:
I am proud to announce that on Thursday, June 15 from 1 - 3 p.m, carnival rides and Midway
games, lights, and music will be turned off for festival-goers who are sensitive to large crowds
and stimuli.
After that, the park will feature performances on the Canton LIVE stage and the amphitheater
all weekend. While each show will be entertaining for all, I am especially looking forward to our
second annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 17, kicking off at 1 p.m. in the
amphitheater.
The most memorable and popular Liberty Fest event is Friday night's spectacular fireworks
show. The Canton sky will be set ablaze by one of the largest and best fireworks displays in
Michigan. Tens of thousands of spectators will be awed as they watch this outstanding aerial
show.
And, let's not forget about all of the festival food and drink options throughout the weekend.
While favorites such as corn dogs, elephant ears, kettle corn and giant pretzels will available
from multiple vendors, we also plan on having a variety of food trucks on site. The tentative
line-up consists of Little Lou's Hot Chicken, Smokehouse BBQ, Truckin Waffles, Impasto and
many more!
Of course, the Beer Garden will be available for refreshing adult beverages, and the Canton
Lions Club will be offering their famous pancake breakfast in the north pavilion on Saturday
from 8 - 11 am, featuring world-famous Chris Cakes flipping pancakes high onto plates for
those brave enough to catch one. Kids will have a chance to meet a variety of fun characters
such as Batman and Rapunzel from 9 - 11 a.m.
Also, I, along with many other Board members, will be volunteering all weekend and look for-
ward to seeing you there. Make sure you say hello!
Thank you, Canton, for making Liberty Fest a community highlight for the past 30 years. Here's
looking forward to 30 more!
