On the run
Chamber sponsors morning run
As the Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce prepares for the second
annual Lakeside Strawberry Run, Executive Director Paul Henning
wants people to know that the event is open to anyone who wants to par-
ticipate.
The run takes place beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 15, during
Strawberry Festival weekend.
Sponsored by Genisys Credit Union, the 5K run starts and ends at
Horizon Park, and the route takes participants over the Denton Road
bridge, across the lake and up into the neighborhoods of scenic Van
Buren Township.
Last year, the event drew around 100 participants, and Henning hopes
to double that number this year.
“We're really hoping that the involvement of Genisys Credit Union will
help that along,” Henning said.
Genisys is helping to promote the event using radio ads and other
avenues to get the word out.
The cost to enter is $35 for those 19 and older, and $30 for those 18 and
