in September of 2005 and continues to offer educational pro-
grams and activities for all ages. In keeping with the farming
history of the community, visitors experience a hands-on
working farm filled with livestock, produce and harvested
fields. In addition, the farm now features a dedicated chil-
dren's play area in addition to the barns along with a gift shop
and picnic area. There is also a paved parking lot for visitors.
The farm continues to operate on a very slim budget and
now houses more than 100 animals and officials said animal
feed and upkeep alone cost in excess of $25,000 annually.
Operations are funded without any tax support and depend
on the educational programming, admittance fees, fundrais-
ers and donations.
Maybury Farm is located at 50165 Eight Mile Road, a mile
and a half west of Beck Road. Visitors are cautioned not to
enter Maybury State Park but continue 1/4 mile west to the
Maybury Farm entrance.
The farm is usually closed on Mondays and hours vary with
the seasons and may change due to inclement weather. For
