$25,000 raffle under way
Tickets for the second annual
Northville Educational Foundation
$25,000 Cash For College Raffle are now
available.
Tickets are priced at $50 each, or three
for $100. Proceeds from the raffle benefit
the Northville Educational Foundation
and the 7,300 students in the district. If
ticket sales total less than $50,000, the
prize will revert to a 50/50 drawing with a
minimumof a $1000 prize.
The drawing will take place at about
7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Northville
Tree Lighting Ceremony in the town
square just after the Holiday Lighted
Parade. Ticket holders need not be pres-
ent towin.
Tickets will be sold until the start of the
parade Nov. 17, or until all 1500 tickets are
sold, whichever comes first). Purchasers
must be 18 or older.

Parade entries sought
Entries for theWinter Fest Parade Dec.
2 are now being accepted at the Belleville
Area Chamber of Commerce, 248Main St.,
Belleville, 48111.
Rules for parade entries require that
the vehicle must be decorated with work-
ing lights. Vehicles with headlights that
remain should cover them during partici-
pation as headlights distract other partici-
pants and judges. Music, however, is wel-
come.

Veterans concert planned
The Michigan Philharmonic will pres-
ent Hail to the Veterans at 8 p.m. Nov. 10 at
Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic

The musical salute to military veterans
will feature the Detroit Children's Choir,
Main Street Opera Theatre Children's
Chorus, Plymouth Counselors Youth
Chorale and the Michigan Philharmonic

Girls' Night Out tomorrow
'Fall Girls Night Out' is set to begin at 5
p.m. tomorrow indowntownNorthville.
Fifty retail stores, including art gal-
leries, boutiques and home decor will stay
open late and offer discounts, special gifts
and drawings. Some downtown restau-
rants are also participating. Merchants say
there's something for women of all ages
and styles.

Veterans post needs newhome
The American Legion Westland Post
251 is in need of a temporary building or
home the veterans could maintain includ-
ingminor repair work, if needed, painting,
maintenance of a parking lot and/or yard
work.
The group would also pay utility bills at
thehome or building.
Anyone who may be able to help the
veterans group is asked to contact Post

Acton noted that the veterans are in
need of assistance in finding a location for
the post operations.
CoreCross Training offered
The City of Plymouth Recreation
Department will offer a six-week Core
Cross Training course presented by Mercy
Elite Sports Performance from 7-8 p.m. on
Mondays, starting Nov. 13 through Dec. 18
at thePlymouthCultural Center.
Students can learn to properly
strengthen their core with the help of a
certified athletic trainer from Mercy Elite
Sports Performance and Physical
Therapy. Students should bring a mat and
towel. This class is open to participants
ages 13 and up. Cost is $100 for city of
Plymouth residents and $115 for non-resi-
dents.

Fundraising lunch served
The Family Resource Center will serve
a buffet lunch at Café Marquette in the
William D. Ford Career Technical Center
from 11:15 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. Tuesday,
Nov. 14.
The minimum donation is $10 per per-
sonpayable at the door.
All donations received will be used to
fund the Family Resource Center which
assists students and families in need who
are attending the Wayne-Westland
Community Schools.

dents of the district to participate in a
process that will allow students, staff, par-
ents and community members to provide
perspectives on how to best invest in the
district facilities.

SlowFlowYoga classes set
The City of Plymouth Recreation
Department will offer Adult Slow Flow
Yoga classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The seven-week class will take place from
6:30 until 7:45 p.m. on Tuesdays, Nov. 14 -
Dec. 26 or Thursdays, Nov. 9 through Dec.
28 at thePlymouthCultural Center.
The class will incorporate a gentle flow
of movement and breath, with a focus on
form and body awareness. Each class will
end with a guided meditation and relax-
ation. Cost for this class is $89 for city of
Plymouth residents and $104 for non-resi-
dents.

Kung Fu classes offered
The City of Plymouth Recreation
Department will offer a six-week Kung Fu
class designed for children and adults.
The classes will take place from 6:30-7:30
p.m. Tuesdays Nov. 14 through Dec. 19 at
thePlymouthCultural Center.
The class is taught in a traditional envi-
ronment that allows students to learn at
their own pace. Students are required to
wear black uniforms that can be pur-
chased in class. Cost for this class is $47 for
city of Plymouth residents and $62 for non-
residents.

Christmas Tea is served
A Christmas Tea will be served at the
Wayne Public Library at 1 -3 p.m. Nov. 18.
The tea, catered by Victoria's Tea Salon, is
a fundraiser for the Friends of the Wayne
PublicLibrary.

table of 8.

Holiday Bell concert set
The combined bell choirs of Plymouth
churches will present a Handbell Festival
Concert at First United Methodist Church
inPlymouthat 4 p.m. Nov. 19.
More than 40 handbell ringers will join
in celebrating the Thanksgiving season
with a program featuring music per-
formed by all of the choirs ringing togeth-
er, and by each bell choir individually. The
concert will also include audience sing-
along of familiar Thanksgiving hymns.
Admission is free; an offering will be
received to benefit theSalvationArmy.
First United Methodist Church is locat-
ed at 45201 North Territorial Road, a mile
east of Beck Road, and offers ample park-

The Village Potters Guild will host the Holiday Pottery Sale Nov. 16, 17 and 18.
The sale will feature original handmade pottery from more than 20 artists all craft-
