Calendar of events
BELLEVILLE:
Flop E. Bunny will make a special
visit to Victory Park at Five Points in
Belleville beginning at noon Saturday,
March 31.
The event, sponsored by the Belleville
Central Business Community, will
include a candy hunt for children, divid-
ed into age groups. The first group which
will include toddlers to those 3-years-old
will begin the hunt at 12:15 followed by
children 4 and 5 years old who can start
hunting for treats at 12:30 p.m. Those 6
and 7 years old can start their searches at
12:45 p.m. and at 1 p.m. children 8 to 10
can enjoy the search for holiday treats.
From noon until 2 p.m. framed photos
with Flop E. Bunny by April Warner
Photography will be available. There is
no charge, but donations arewelcome.
Hot dogs and drinks will be available
for purchase by CAFS and the Kiwanis
Clubmembers will have a book sale table
at the event.
There will also be a craft table hosted
byOurFather's Child.
The event is sponsored by the Tucker
Agency and the Belleville Downtown
District Authority.
INKSTER:
The Easter Bunny will be bringing
some extra special treats and fun when
he visits the Booker Dozier Recreation
Complex from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Saturday, March 31.
The bunny, under careful supervision,
will hide dozens and dozens of eggs for
children to find during the Easter Egg
Hunt during the free Easter Family Fun
Day.
The activities are designed for chil-
dren up to age 12 and is free but pre-reg-
istration for each child in requested.

Activities include the egg hunt with
several prizes, selfies with the Easter
Bunny, face painting, arts and crafts,
games and other activities. Light refresh-
mentswill be provided.
The free event is sponsored by the
Inkster Task Force Unity in the
Community Campaign hosted by the
Inkster Task Force, Inkster Police
Department, The Service Builders
Foundation of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Inc., Eta Iota Omega Chapter,
Inkster Parks and Recreation
Department, Operation Refuge, Starfish
Family Services and the Inkster
CommunityFoundation.
The recreation complex is located at

NORTHVILLE:
The
Northville
Community
Foundationwill continue Easter funwith
anEggHunt beginning at 11 a.m. April 14
at Maybury Farm. Gates will open at 9:30
a.m. and children can redeem eggs for a
bag filled with candy and treats donated
by local businesses.
Egg hunts will be divided into age
groups with those 2-3 beginning at 11
a.m.; children 4-6 starting at 11:30 a.m.
and children 7-10 beginning at noon.
Admission is $5 per vehicle and
includes visits with farm animals, seed
planting, a visit with the Easter Bunny
and Smokey the Bear along with conces-
sions.
The event is limited to the first 700
children.
WAYNE:
The annual Marshmallow Drop will
be presented in Wayne this year by
HYPEAthletics ofWesternWayne.
The event will take place tomorrow,
March 30 at AtwoodPark onBallfieldNo.

Children will be divided into age
groups beginning with toddlers through
age 4 and children with disabilities who
can find the treats beginning at 10 a.m.
Children from 5-7 years old can partici-
pate in the fun beginning at 10:15 a.m.
and those ages 8-10 can gather the con-
fections beginning at 10:30 a.m.

HYPE is also sponsoring the Bunny
Brunch for families the same day,
Saturday, March 30. The Easter Bunny
will be in attendance and children can
complete an arts and crafts project. Door
will open at 10:45 a.m. and brunchwill be
served at 11 a.m..
The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for
children ages 3 through 11. Those 2 and
younger are admitted at no cost with an
adult.

Northville State of theCommunity set
The annual update on the community
will
include
presentations
by
Superintendent of Northville Public
Schools Mary Kay Gallagher, Township
Supervisor Robert Nix and City of
Northville Mayor Ken Roth, April 18 at the
VisTaTechCenter at Schoolcraft College.
Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. with
a buffet luncheon andprogramto follow.
The cost is $40 per person and the dead-

Art Club exhibit planned
Three Cities Art Clubmembers will pres-
ent their annual Spring Art Exhibition from
9 a.m. until 5 p.m. April 6 and 7 and from
noon until 4:30 April 8 at the Westland
PublicLibrary.
The exhibit is free and more than 20
artists will display 65 original works in
acrylics, watercolor, pencil, charcoal, mixed
media, photography and othermediums.
Visitors can vote for their three favorite
works of art and enter a drawing for a
chance to win a collectable doll. For more

In addition to the art for sale, there will
be note cards, refrigerator magnets, and
matted and framedprints.

Legislators host CoffeeHour
Wayne County Commissioner Glenn S.
Anderson will be hosting a Coffee Hour in
Inkster with State Sen. David Knezek from
noonuntil 1 p.m. onMonday, April 9.
The Coffee Hour will take place at the
WesternWayne Family Health Center, locat-
ed at 2700HamlinBoulevard in Inkster.

Chambers host QuickBooksworkshop
The Belleville Area Chamber of
Commerce, the Wayne Chamber of
Commerce and the Westland Chamber of
Commerce have joined forces to present a
QuickBooks Workshop from noon until 1:30
p.m. Monday, April 9 at the Ted Scott
Campus of Wayne County Community
College, 9555HaggertyRoad inBelleville.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and
lunchwill be provided.
This is a free workshop for chamber
members that has been created for anyone
who wants to learn the best way to maneu-
ver through the setup and continued use of
QuickBooks.

Spring Fashion Showset
The Belleville Area Women's Club will
present the 2018 Spring Fashion Show
beginning with cocktails at 6 p.m. April 11 at
Woodlands of Van Buren. Dinner will be
served at 7 p.m. and the fashion show will
start at 8 p.m.
Fashions will be provided by Dress Barn
and all proceeds will be used to benefit the
community and education fund of the
group.
Tickets for the event are priced at $40
per person.

FairyGardenWorkshop offered
The Wayne Historical Museum will offer
a Fairy Garden Workshop from 1-3 p.m.
Saturday, April 7.
The cost for the class is $30 and reserva-
tions can be made on Eventbrite or by call-

Participants can create a fairy garden of
their own design. Supplies will be provided
including two plants, a pot and décor.
