The public is welcome. The morning will
begin with networking and a continental
breakfast followed by the meeting at 8 a.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to elect new
board members and officers, and includes
reports on the organization's 2013 finances
and programs. Chairman of the Board of
Directors Lou Whitlock will recognize con-
tributors with Platinum, Gold, Silver, and
Bronze awards as well as those for
Community Service.

strategic coupon use, including collecting
and organizing coupons, coupon anatomy,

MomPrombenefitsGoodfellows
It's time to pull out old prom dresses or
bridesmaids gowns for a good cause - the
Canton Mom Prom is back and will benefit
theCantonGoodfellows.
This special celebration for all women,
not just moms, will take place from 8-11 p.m.
Saturday, April 5, at the Summit on the Park,
located at 46000 Summit Parkway.
No dates are required or allowed at this
special 21 and over dance. The Mom Prom
will feature dancing, hors d'oeuvres, drinks,
special raffle prize drawings, plus fun con-
tests including the 'Tackiest Dress' and 'Aqua
Net Contest' for the best hair in the room. In
addition, an official PromQueen will also be
crowned.
Tickets are on sale now for $40 and
include two drink tickets and snacks. A cash
bar will also be available. Purchase tickets

Officials host coffee hour
Wayne County Commissioner Richard
LeBlanc will be co-hosting his usual coffee
hour with State Rep. David Knezek this
April in Inkster.
The event will take place from12:30 - 1:30
p.m. at the Inkster Public Library onMonday,
April 7. Residents can attend and discuss
issues that are important to them.

Identity theft is topic
The Leanna Hicks Public Library will
host representatives from Attorney General
Bill Schuette's Senior Brigade at 6 p.m. April
9. The discussion topic will be Identity Theft
and is part of SmartMoneyWeek in the state.
At the event, the book Money Rules by
Jean Chatzky will be available to those who
attend.
Money Smart Week is sponsored by the
MichiganCredit UnionLeague.

State of Communitymeeting set
Reservations will be accepted through
April 9 for the annual State of the
Community program planned for noon until
1:30 p.m. April 16 at Meadowbrook County
Club, 40941W. EightMileRoad inNorthville.
Networking will begin at 11:30 a.m. and
the luncheon and program will begin at
noon. The cost is $40 per person.
Community updates will be presented by
State Rep. Kurt Heise, Mary Kay Gallagher,
Northville Public Schools superintendent,
Christopher Johnson, City of Northville
mayor, and Robert Nix, Northville Township
supervisor.

Mayorswill host charity ball
Romulus Mayor Leroy D. Burcroff and
Belleville Mayor Kerreen Conley are hosting
a Mayors' Ball from 7 p.m. until midnight
April 11 at the Romulus Marriott Hotel,
30559FlynnDr. inRomulus.
Space is limited and advance tickets at
$100 per person will only be available
throughApril 4.
There will be an open bar and cocktail
service will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner
served at 7. The evening will include silent
auctions.
All proceeds will benefit the Boys and
Girls Clubs of SoutheasternMichigan.

Piggy banks provided
Laura Saches from the Public Service
Credit Union will visit the Romulus Public
Library for a special story time for those 6
and younger at 6:30 p.m. April 8 during
Money SmartWeek.
Free books and piggy banks will be dis-
tributed.

Art entry deadline looms
April 12 is the deadline for entries in the
West of Center All Media Show at the
NorthvilleArtHouse.
West of Center is an effort to showcase
contemporary artworks selected by Robert
Schefman, the chair of the Foundations
Department and Associate Professor at the
College for CreativeStudies.

DivaDay in Plymouth
The 6thAnnual DivaDay inPlymouthwill
take place from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. April 12.
The first 500 divas will receive free hot pink
boas. Little divas and diva dogs are also wel-
come, according to a prepared statement.
Downtown Plymouth boutiques, salons
and restaurants will present special offers,
unique refreshments, and chances to win
DivaDay prizes.

Township history is topic
The history of Sumpter Township will be
the topic during the Third Thursday Lecture
from 6-7 p.m. April 17 at the Belleville Area
Museum, 405MainSt., Belleville.
The lecture is free to members with a $3

Smart driver course offered
The Romulus Senior Center will host the
AARP Smart Driver course from 9 a.m. until
1 p.m. April 16 and 17.
Seniors who take the course can save
money on car insurance, notedRose Swiden,
senior center director.
The class is limited to 20 students. The
cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for
nonmembers.

Barefoot casting new show
Barefoot Productions will audition
actors for Motherhood, Out Loud, from 7-9
p.m. March 31 at theBarefoot Productions
Theatre.
The production is a comedy conceived
by SusanR. Rose and JoanSteinwith con-
tributions from 14 American writers and
will be co-directed by Craig A. Hane and
Dana Naughton. The show is a collection
of comedic and poignant monologues,
duets and short scenes. There are roles
for two men and three to nine women
ages 19 through 70. Doubling and flexible
casting is possible. Actors are asked to
bring a head shot and resume, if possible.
There will be cold readings from the
script.
Productions are planned for May 16, 17
and 18.
