Second opinion
State Rep. Jewell Jones (D-Inkster), left, said he was encouraged by Gov. Rick
Snyder's State of the State address last week, but added that he feels the state
has some more work to do. "The governor spoke about his accomplishments
and the progress Michigan has made. However, too many people are still strug-
gling to make ends meet and not enjoying the quality of life they deserve. I hope
that this year, we will pursue policies that support more and better jobs, helping to
create a robust economy that benefits everyone and enacting the Health Care Bill
of Rights - so that working families across the state can support themselves and
lead the kind of life they can be proud of." Jones attended the State of the State
address with his guest, Army National Guard 2nd Lt. George Croom, primary
intelligence officer for the 210th Military Police Battalion at the state Capitol in
Lansing.
