E.G. Nick's
500 Forest Ave.
Plymouth
(734) 414-6400
One of the most popular places in
town is always E.G. Nick's on Forest
Street where owners Tony Belli and
Frank Agostini are known for great
food and for the great entertainment
during local festivals.
The pair always offer crowds some-
thing unusual and entertaining and
will bring back the famous Svedka Ice
Bar this year during the Ice Festival,
along with the Party Lot in the rear of
the restaurant with live entertainment
anddrinksFriday andSaturdays.
“We hope everybody comes by dur-
ing the Ice Festival to have a good
time. That's what we're here for,”
Agostini said.
The warm tent will feature The
Randy Brock Group from 8 until mid-
night on Friday and Smoke and
Mirrors at the same times Saturday
night. There will be a $3 cover charge
which will be donated to the
Plymouth Canton Vietnam Veterans
group.
There will be beer, wine andmixed
drinks served in the tent both Friday
and Saturday nights, he added. The
Svedka Ice Bar will offer a wide range
of specialty drinks featuring several
flavors of the vodka served in some
pretty unusual ways. “That is always a
big draw,” Agostini said. “People love
it.”
The restaurant will be offering a
full menu during the Ice Festival
which includes several new dishes
like the not-to-be missed ultimate
macaroni and cheese and the superb
tournedos of beef. The planked white-
fish has been named the best in the
state by food critics, with good reason.
It is seasoned to perfection and
always moist and flavorful. Meals
range from $8 to $20 or so and are
served in a relaxed and comfortable
atmosphere. The restaurant is known
for the varied menu, family-friendly
atmosphere and spirit of fun, whether
there is a festival going on or simply
the celebration of Tuesday.
“We hope everybody stops by dur-
ing the Ice Festival. We want them to
enjoy the festival as much as we do,”
Agostini said. “We want everybody to
have a great time and this is really a
cool event.”
Burger Spot
550 Forest Ave.
Westchester Mall
(734) 455-4141
The new owner at Burger Spot may
have only been in the Plymouth loca-
tion inside the Westchester Mall for
about eight months, but he and his
family have been in the restaurant
business formore than four decades.
Jack Ayoub knows how to prepare a
lot more than burgers and offers sever-
al choices in the small, diner-like set-
ting, including vegetarian and chicken
selections.
Everything is top quality, Ayoub
proudly points out, including only cer-
tified Black Angus beef in the burgers
and Guernsey Ice Cream in the popu-
larmalts and shakes prepared to order.
The all natural hot dogs are popular
with customers as are the vegetarian
options, due Ayoub says, to the quality
and price point of the menu items. His
family began operating restaurants in
the area in 1972 and he brought that
experience to theBurger Spot.
The burgers and other specialties
are all top quality, fresh ingredients
which aremade-to-order for every cus-
tomer.
TheBurger Spot is growing in popu-
larity with locals and is usually open
during lunchhours only.
