Ice Bar, Party Tent bring crowds to Forest Avenue
One of the must see attractions at the Ice Festival will
once again be the Svedka Ice Bar on the porch at E. G.
Nick's restaurant onForest Street.
The bar, carved from solid ice, will this year include
what co-owner Frank Agostini calls an Ice Lounge, with
chairs and tables in addition to the regular bar.
“We have some great 3-foot heaters, and people like it
near the ice bar so much, we are going to add some regu-
lar chairs and tables this year. We'll be able to seat, maybe
20,”Agostini said.
The attraction, in addition to the “cool” bar, will be the
specialty martinis served in a unique way at the ice bar,
he added. In addition. The bar will serve Black Velvet
Whiskey, in a toasted caramel and a cinnamon rush flavor.
“That will warmpeopleup,”Agostini said.
Inside the restaurant the Magic Hat Brewery will be
offering a Beer Shake, when servers will poor two beers
into one glass and onewill float on top of the other.
Agostini said that some of the specialty beers used
haven't been inMichigan before and that is is the viscosity
of the beer thatmakes one float on top of the other.
