Plymouth Ice Festival
Page 19
The community festivals in Plymouth bring huge crowds into the downtown,
and the city has earned a reputation for knowing how to really entertain guests.
One of the largest attractions each year is the Ice Festival which draws about
100,000 people into the city, many of whom find one of the local dining spots to be
perfect for their appetite. That ability to accommodate just about any food prefer-
ence is one of the many attributes that brings people back to the area long after
the ice hasmelted.
One of the factors considered in the state-wide reputation for excellence
enjoyed by Plymouth is the ability of the local restaurant scene to provide some-
thing for everyone and entertainment for all. While some of the establishments
are better known to locals who frequent them, many are the attractions that
bring folks back toPlymouth, time and time again.
Fromgreat American cooking, traditional ethnic foods to casual Italian of the
best kind, there's very little that can't be found on the streets of Plymouth, whether
it's Main Street, Forest Street or into Old Village, these are places well worth the
trip. Plymouth restaurants offer the best choice and variety around.

If it's Saturday, this must be E.G.
Nick's.
The restaurant has a list of Saturday
Night Specials that draw crowds from
throughout the area. Diners can
depend on some regular choices, and
every so often, the chef shows off his
cooking "chops" with something even
more extra special.
The recently revamped menu
includes an Ultimate Mac and Cheese
that is loaded with grilled chicken and
ham, adding a special smoky flavor to
the comfort food. The dish is topped
with a touch of chopped fresh green
onions that has been known to cause
diners to actually swoon at the first
taste.
During the Ice Festival, E.G. Nick's
will feature a bar carved from a block
of ice on the deck, an attraction that
draws crowds every year. As has
become a tradition during the festivals,
the restaurant will also have a huge
heated tent in the back parking lot with
live entertainment on both Friday and
Saturday, open from 6 p.m. until mid-
night. This year the Party Lot is spon-
soredbyMGMGrand.
E.G. Nick's reputation for reason-
ably priced American food is well
deserved. They serve steaks, seafood
and their award-winning baby back
ribs. The planked whitefish has been
named the best in the state by food crit-
ics.
