Annual Optimist Club Pet Show is festival tradition
Requirements for the Optimists Pet
Show haven't changed much during
the past few decades: Show up with
your pet on a leash, in a cage or other-
wiseunder control
That's it, explained Jim Hutchins
who organized the public service event
for theOptimists Club.
The event takes place every year at
9 a.m. on Saturday inKellogg Park dur-
ing the Plymouth Fall Festival.
Participants are encouraged to show
off their family's four-footed friends
and there is no age limit for pets or
participants.
Judges award prizes in categories
such as longest tail, shortest tail, most
unusual, best dressed, best tricks,
longest ears, shortest ears and whatev-
er else theymay think of.
“Everybody's a winner and every-
body gets a ribbon as first, second or
participant,”Hutchins said.
