The Records Bureau at the Canton
Public Safety Department offices will be
closed from noon - 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec.
19.

County Lightfest open
The 21st annual Lightfest is now open.
This year, several new displays have been
added and the entire light show has been
converted to energy efficient LED lights.
The largest drive through light show in the
Midwest, the Lightfest features more than
55 giant, animated holiday-themed dis-
plays.
The Light show will continue through
Dec. 31. It is closed onChristmasDay.
Christian rock band visits
Wise For Salvation Christian rock band
will perform at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at St. John's
LutheranChurch inWestland.
The performance will include tradi-
tional and contemporary Christmas carols
and songs as well as some of original
songs.
The concert is open to the public. St.

Christmas Spectacular set
A cast of more than 100 of some of the
most talented dancers, singers and gym-
nasts in Southeast Michigan will perform
a holiday tradition, the 11th annual
Central City Christmas Spectacular.
Performances are planned for 6 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 18 and Dec. 19 and at 11
a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20
and at noon and 4 p.m. onSunday, Dec. 21.
Peek into Santa's Toyshop to see what
really happens in the North Pole and be
transported to a world of twirling balleri-
nas, toy army men, jolly elves, and glitzy
soldiers as they all come to life to help
NorthPoleworkers loadSanta's sleigh.
Performances will take place at the
Village Theater at Cherry Hill, Canton.
Tickets are $23 and can be purchased
through Dec. 12 at Central City Dance
Center, 6700 Canton Center Road, Canton.

The Belleville Community Band will

Tickets for the Detroit Circus perform-
ance at the Village Theater in Canton
Township on Jan. 24 will be on sale

Inspire offers 3 shows
Inspire school of Theatre Arts will offer
threeChristmas shows for one lowprice at

Contra dancing at Mill Race Village
Mill Race Villagewill host Contra danc-
ing to a live band with introductory les-
sons at 12:30 and dancing beginning at 1
p.m. Dec. 21.
Contra dancing is a combination of the
aspects of square dancing ans swing danc-
ing and all ages and experience levels are
welcome.
Dancers should wear comfortable
clothing and clean, indoor, smooth-soled
shoes. Danceswill end at 4 p.m.
The cost for general admission is $10
and $8 for students. The cost for a family is
$20, or $15 with a Northville Historical
Societymembership.

Library hosts poet
The Northville District Library is host-
ing a program "Poems for Michigan with
Joyce Benvenuto" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan.

Poet and storyteller Joyce Benvenuto
brings alive the generations of people who
have lived along Grand River, both the
river and the road, for the past 160 years
in this presentation of beautiful Michigan
poetry. Her collection of poems, "A Grand
River: Poems for Michigan" crosses the
state formshore to shore.

Jazz concert set
The Plymouth District Library will host
nationally-known recording artist Cynthia
Kaay Bennett in a free Jazz performance
at 3 p.m. Saturday Jan. 10 during the
Plymouth IceFestival.
Also featured in the performance will
be Kevin Korecki on keyboard and Will
Kinsey on drums. The event is sponsored
by the Friends of the Plymouth District
Library.

The Plymouth District Library will
offer visitors to the Ice Festival warm
cider and a Disney sing-along from 1-4

Drugs 101 class set
Educators from Saint Joseph Mercy
Health System will travel to Hillside
Middle School to educate parents, grand-
parents, coaches, teachers and adminis-
trators about the various forms of drugs
and the peer pressures facing students to
use them. The presentation is titledDrugs
101:What Parents Want to Know and is
sponsored by the Northville Public
Schools.
The two-hour presentation starts at
6:30 p.m. Jan. 21, when participants will
enter a mock bedroom of a teenager that
has been set up to resemble a teenage
drug user's room. Participants are asked to
identify drug and alcohol related para-
phernalia that have been placed within
the room.
Throughout the presentation, more
than 70 trendy drug and alcohol indicators
will be unveiled to showhow some adoles-
cents hide drug and alcohol use.
The goal of this program is to empower
participants with the knowledge they
need to spot warning signs of drug abuse
in time to intervene and/or prevent it.

CITY OF INKSTER, WAYNE COUNTY
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Wayne County Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG)
In compliance with federal guidelines, the City of Inkster will hold a public hearing
on Monday, January 5, 2015, at 7:30 pm to consider transferring $75,000 to Public
Services for Neighborhood Clean Up and Educational/Recreation Programs from
Demolition and Code Enforcement. This transfer will exceed the fifteen percent
(15%) cap on Public Services. The public hearing will be held at City Hall located at
26215 Trowbridge, Inkster, Michigan 48141. The purpose of the hearing is to
receive public comment and approve the transfer of funds. To submit comments,

The City of Inkster will provide necessary, reasonable auxiliary aids and service to
