A Wayne woman's credit card
was used tomakemore than $4,000
in purchases after it was stolen
fromher purse.
The woman reported her wallet
which contained the credit card
stolen Nov. 25. She told police she
had last used her wallet while
shopping at the Westland Meijer
store at about 6 p.m. the evening
before. She hadn't noticed her
missing wallet until the next morn-
ing.
She told police she called the
company to report the stolen Visa
card and was informed that pur-
chases of $3,282 and $800 had been
made the night before at a Target
store. A third purchase of $1,121 at
Meijer was refused by the credit
card company.
Westland police investigated
and discovered that the purchases
at Target were for gift cards and
sweaters. Two of those gift cards
were used at other Target stores
while two more were cancelled by
Target when police notified them

tigation, according to police
reports.
