Mitten donations sought
The Romulus Public Library is
accepting donation of new mittens
and hats for the less fortunate to be
distributedby theGoodfellows.

County Lightfest open
The 21st annual Lightfest is now
open. This year, several new dis-
plays have been added and the
entire light show has been convert-
ed to energy efficient LED lights.
The largest drive through light
show in the Midwest, the Lightfest
features more than 55 giant, ani-
matedholiday-themeddisplays.
The Lightshow will continue
through Dec. 31. It is closed on
ChristmasDay.
Museumexhibit continues
The Plymouth Historical
Museum exhibit, Twas the Night
Before Christmas, will continue
through Jan. 11, 2015. The exhibit
features several Christmas stories
and movies from the past two cen-
turies, including many family
favorite classics in vignettes and
displays.
Santa will visit the museum
every Saturday and will be at the
museum from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Dec. 6 during the Annual Craft
Bazaar and open house. The
museum is located at 155 S. Main
St.. Hours are 1-4 p.m. Wednesday,
Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is $5 for adults and $2
for students ages 6-17.

Art House exhibits set
The Northville Art House will
present the 2014 International
Mosaic Exhibit and Auction which
includes a collection of 141 mosaic
artworks from artists representing
13 countries. The works are an
example of the diverse creativity in
this again-burgeoning art form.
The work may be viewed at the Art
House and is available for bid in an
auction benefitting Doctors
Without Borders at the online auc-

Showcased in the lower level of
the Art House is The Art of Light,
the theme of the Northville
Camera Club which is the largest
event of the year for the club.
Members are invited to participate
in this show and it's the one time of
year that their local photographic
talent canbe seen in one place.
This exhibit will continue
throughout November and
December in the lower level
gallery at theNorthvilleArtHouse.
Goodfellows host fundraiser
The Wayne Goodfellows will
host the 28th Annual Fundraiser
for the group from 5:30 until mid-
night Dec. 5 at the Wayne
Community Center, 4635 Howe
Road inWayne.
Every year, the Wayne
Goodfellows provides food, toys,
and emergency assistance for the
residents of Wayne. Last year, the
group was able to help more than
200 families throughout the year
and also supported various local
organizations that provide support
for the less fortunate in the com-
munity.
Tickets for the Dec. 5 event are
priced at $25 per person and
include a dinner buffet, dessert,
soft drinks and an entry into the
door prize drawing. There will also
be prizes, raffles, auctions, a DJ,
dancing and a cash bar during the
evening.

Teddy Bears to 'rain'
The Plymouth Whalers and
Plymouth Community United Way
are hoping it will rain a torrent of
teddy bears after the hockey team
scores its' first goal at Compuware
ArenaSaturday, Dec. 6.
The annual TeddyBear Toss not
only provides toys to brighten the
holidays of needy children, but
comfort them in shelters and trau-
matic situations throughout the
year.
Last year, more than 800 teddy
bearswere thrown onto the ice cre-
ating an avalanche of stuffed ani-
mals. This year, fans are being
asked to bring a bevy of bears to
top that total. The funbegins at 7:05
p.m.

AReel Christmas planned
Inspire Theatre will present A
Reel Christmas, scenes from clas-
sic Christmas movies along with
Christmas music and a Christmas
sing-a-long at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6
and at 3 p.m. Dec. 7.
Tickets for the show, which will
be presented at Inspire Theatre,

Craft bazaar at museum
The Plymouth Historical
Museum Annual Craft Bazaar and
Open House will take place from
10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Dec. 6.
All artisans have been specially
selected for their unique gifts and
ideas. Crafts range from jewelry
and ceramic art to knit and recy-
cled creations.
There will also be a bake sale
andSantawill visit all day.

Santa will visit the Belleville
Area District Library from 6:30-8
p.m. Dec. 8.
If children are too shy to whis-
per in Santa's ear, hand-written
wish lists are welcome. Parents are

Library hostsChristmas concert
Nothing rings in the season like
the beautiful sound of Christmas
music by The Golden Griffon
Stringtet who will appear in con-
cert at the Romulus Public Library
at 6 p.m. Dec. 9.
The concert will include many
favorite traditional carols as well
as popular contemporary songs.
The sounds of the hammered dul-
cimer, violin, and guitar will create
a unique and joyful experience.

Simply Dickens visitsmuseum
The Plymouth Historical
Museum will host the vocal group,
Simply Dickens, who will perform
old world Christmas carols at 7
p.m. Dec. 10. The show focuses on
music of the 18th and 19th cen-
turies.

Christmas in Plymouth celebrated
Christmas in Plymouth will take
place from 5-9 p.m. Dec. 11
throughout downtown businesses
in the community. There will be
horse and carriage rides priced at
$5 per person, live roving
Christmas music provided by the
Schoolcraft College five piece
brass ensemble and carols sung by
Evenin' Gentlemen, a barbershop
quartet.
The event will conclude with a
short community sing hosted by the
BeckRidgeChorale.
The event is open to the public
at no cost.
Rock'n'Roll Santa on stage
Inspire Theatre will present a
spotlight on youth production of
Rock 'N' roll Santa, a musical in
two acts, at 7 p.m. Dec. 11, 12, and
13 with 2 p.m. matinees set for Dec.
13 and 14. The production, written
by R. Eugene Jackson with music
by Carl Aletee and orchestration by
MarkRogers, will be on the stage at
Inspire Theatre, 5767 ExecutiveDr.

Popswith the Phil presented
The Penn Theatre in downtown
Plymouthwill be the site of two fes-
tive yuletide pops concerts featur-
ing many traditional holiday
favorites.

across from Kellogg Park in the
heart of the city.

Goodfellows selling papers
Northville Rotary Club mem-
bers will conduct the annual
Goodfellows paper sale all day
Dec. 13 through the township and
city. Fire department and Rotary
members will be selling papers
throughout the community to col-
lect donations to help fund the No
Child Without A Christmas cam-
paign.

Holiday Sing planned
Audiences of all ages will enjoy
a Holiday Sing beginning at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 13, at The Village
Theater at Cherry Hill, located at
50400CherryHill Road.
Escape the holiday hustle and
bustle and celebrate this joyful sea-
son with an evening of festive fun
as you lift your voices during this
special sing-along with Matt
Watroba, a popular community
singer with special ties to folk
music.
Lyrics will be projected on the
big screen for all to see. Bring the

ing programof holiday music, from
well-loved Christmas carols to clas-
sicwinter-themed songs.

Santa is lunch guest
The Wayne Parks and
Recreation Department will host
Lunch With Santa from 10:45 a.m.
until 1 p.m. Dec. 13 at the
CommunityCenter.
The cost is $5 per person for
Wayne residents and $6 for non-
residents and includes pizza, salad,
bread sticks, pop and arts and
crafts. Santa will be available for
pictures.

Bethlehem Temple of Praise
will present a Gospel Concert,
Through It All…We're Still
